The New Victoria Theatre hosts a variety of productions including RSC and NT shows, musicals, comedies, children's performances and pantomimes. The venue is spacious with affordable seating options. However, the box office queue can be lengthy even close to showtime which may cause inconvenience for some patrons. Recently, Cluedo was performed at the theatre in February which was enjoyable entertainment.

Brilliant theatre. Parking nearby, dinner options nearby too as town centre.Recently had seats refurbished and very comfortable! Merchandise usually available to purchase once you've gone past the box office.

Emily Robinson — Google review

This is quite a large theatre and has some reasonably good seats for under £20. I saw Cluedo in February and it was an entertaining show.

Karen B — Google review

A great west end theatre, out of the west end. Very good, comfortable seats. Very easy parking in the "blue" car park and walk straight across the top of the shopping centre.Saw the Peter Pan pantomime which was excellent and very funny. The only thing that is still in the west end is the drinks prices, but it's as expected these days.

Tom Lampard — Google review

Fabulous, admittedly we didn't have to join the box office queue to collect tickets, or interval drinks, which were a little ridiculous. Especially the box office queue still lengthy 10 mins before 'curtains up'.Jack Dee was his irascible self: a spokesperson for all: sharing the frustrations, foolishness & never ending madness that we have all endured during the lost years of the Pandemic.A superb unexpected night out, thanks to the generosity of two dear friends, who endured a three hour delay returning from Tenerife. Thank you Kathy & Liam xx xx

We came for the Darren Brown show. I wasn't aware it was on the top floor of the shopping Centre so initially slightly confused as to where it was. Entry was fast in scanning tickets even though busy.Seating was generally comfortable, and the stalls had a nice incline between rows so even my short self could easily see (in row S) over/through the heads in front of me.The bar lines were excessively long so do recommend prebooking if a full show, though there was a smaller kiosk near the entrance that sold bottled soda, canned beer, and some snacks that had a much smaller queue.Toilets were dated but ok.

Becky T — Google review

Staff are friendly and efficient, which is greatly appreciated when arriving within minutes of curtain-up. The layout inside is also friendly and efficient. With clear labelling and good lighting, us old ones can find our seats quickly. The seats are comfortable and the banking of seats is excellent - even sitting towards the rear of the Royal Circle we could see easily over those in front. The bars are well stocked and the service is crisp.A final note about parking: obviously use the Victoria car Park, Blue section. Not so obviously, park on level 2 or higher: due to the design of the internal one-way system, cars queuing from upper levels will get out before those on the lowest level, nearest the exits.

Douglas Brown — Google review

I’m a frequent visitor to this fantastic theatre and have always had a great experience. Last night I came to watch The Bodyguard which was outstanding. The show was amazing from start to finish. Highly recommend! The staff are welcoming and helpful. The theatre is walking distance from station and car parks. It’s often busy at the end of the show was filtering out of the venue so bare this in mind when thinking about getting home! Accessible for those with additional needs.

Sophie Skye — Google review

We went to the Rhoda McGaw theatre, within the NVT to see "Now that's what I call an 80's night" with Cinnamon Street. The band were fantastic & the songs they sang were all your favorites from the 80's. Great seats & great views from all the sets. A few bars on different levels with seating to enjoy your drinks before or during the interval. Car parking is easy. Access to shopping center also available.

Alan G — Google review

We watched 'Meet Anton Du Beke'. A pleasant experience, easy to park close by. Plenty of seating, drinks available but limited food options. Better off eating elsewhere before you arrive. We give this experience 4stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟

5 star for the pantoWas bit niggled at card only I know covid is around but other places still take cash but other than that fantastic

Mark Weston — Google review

Went to see SIX here wasn't really my taste... However the theatre is excellent, fused with multistorey car park and a drop off pick up zone. This is massively helpful for disabled patrons. The acoustics, mixing and lighting were all excellent and seats comfortable. The theatre is modern and well laid out with good visibility from all seats. The lobby is big and there are lots of toilets.

Graham Hunt — Google review

Went to a sell out show last night and there was a 40 minute queue for the bar as only 2 people serving. I had a work with the manager who said she had sufficient staff working. It was so hot in the area but there was no/insufficient aircon even for a newish theatre.

Mary Cole — Google review

What a fantastic theatre venue. Well maintained, and the facilities are great. Our views were from the Box E seating, which is slightly from the side. We watched the Life of Pi, which was slightly blocked, but for the most part, views were clear.

Petworth House and Park, a grand mansion with 700-acre deer park situated in Petworth, Sussex, is renowned for its stunning art collection. However, there is much more to explore than just the house's interiors. The property boasts well-maintained gardens full of vibrant colors and a serene lake that offers a refreshing break from daily life. Visitors can also enjoy strolling through the park, sipping tea at the cafe, browsing the library or shopping at the visitors' shop.

This is my home away from home, I love it here and will happily spend the day wandering around the grounds getting lost in nature. The public areas in the house itself are crammed full of historic artifacts, the full guidebook is a must have to decipher what you're looking at - the guides are very knowledgeable but I never remember things when I get home so the book is great to refer to.I've been here a number of times, sometimes I'll do the house, others I'll just take a picnic and randomly plonk myself down in the deer park. I don't think I've ever walked the same route twice!

Samantha Cole — Google review

Beautiful garden, impressive house and amazing art collection. It's the perfect place for a family day out.Perfect located parking, 10 min walk from the main house. You can enjoy the garden (easy walk) unless you chose the other parking which is quite far.The cafe has good variety of food and drinks and few tables inside. You can also take away as there are more tables outside. Once visiting the cafe take the opportunity to visit the beautiful town and church few steps away from the entrance.Clean toilets and nice souvenir shops.Needless to say super friendly staff and volunteers.

Just joined the national trust and this was my first outing. Easy to find, plenty of parking , pay and display is £4 for the day , free if you are a member but you must still scan your card and display a ticket in your car. Toilets are located just as you enter on the left , very clean . As you walk through the entrance a guide asked if this was my first visit and explained how to get to each area. Very helpful and also gave me a map. At the moment they have Elmers art display on for children this summer holiday , free to enter, 10 elephants to find around the gardens . The house was lovely, once you come out of the house you will see the servant quarters that now holds a shop and an art exhibition along with toilets and a cafe. Plenty of places for a picnic too. Make sure to visit the deer park as a lovely lake to see with Canadian geese. For my first trip it was lovely. Will definitely be back in the autumn to see the flowers and trees .

This was only my third visit to Petworth after visits in 1989 and 2004. Historic sites like this do not change much, of course, but it was lovely to come back after nearly 20 years and again enjoy the unrivalled art collection that the house contains. I am particularly drawn to the Turner painting, of which there are several. But there are hundreds of paintings as well as antique furniture and statues. Each room has some booklets which explain each painting or artifact of significance, which I find helpful. One should combine the visit to the house with a walk in the extended grounds. It was lovely to witness the park's deer quietly grazing in the distance. I hope I won't have to wait another 20 years for my next visit.

T Hartberg — Google review

If you like art (particularly Turner) then this is a lovely house to visit with good facilities typical of the National Trust. We came especially for the Colours of Christmas display - lots of beautiful Christmas decorations with different colour themes in each room (and not forgetting the hidden mice!). The weather was appalling so we'll return in the spring for a walk around the extensive gardens, but despite the rain the car park was almost full - and our visit was well worth it.

Kay FJ — Google review

Like a huge art gallery. Some beautiful paintings by very well known artists. Glad we didn't make a special journey (we we're in the area) as for such a huge property, there are very few rooms open to the public. I wouldn't go again. The village itself however is beautiful and quaint and worth the walk round.

A great place to visit with lovely grounds with some fantastic views across the valley.Parking at the bottom of the hill where there is a reception and toilets. There’s quite a steep walk to the house itself which is at the top of a hill. For those who are elderly/disabled there is a buggy that can take you up the hill on request from the reception at the car park. The house itself is only partially open to the public, they do not allow any bags to be taken into the house, you have to lock them in a locker. There is a cafe and shop in the house with some picnic benches in the courtyard by the entrance to the house.

Jack De Sousa — Google review

Fantastic mansion filled with priceless artworks. Huge estate with deer park, pleasure grounds, lake and woodlands, great place to have a picnic on the lawn or take in one of the varied walks, and admire the views. The Elmer the elephant trail is great for the kids.

David Sherratt — Google review

We spent a great day here, an amazing collection of art works in this historical house, very knowledgeable guides will explain the history behind each room.An enjoyable afternoon walking around the park grounds, wonderful views and seeing the wildlife.

Mark Lodge — Google review

This is a brilliant place to go round. We went during Xmas and the lights inside the house were simply incredible. The old kitchens are very cool, and I loved their Cafe and 2nd hand book shop! There is so much outdoor space to explore, and the landscape looks stunning.Make sure you have a National Trust membership, otherwise entry and car parking is too much.

Noah Brierley — Google review

We had a delightful walk in.petworth Park, cup of tea in the cafe, a library to look round and the big kitchens and the visitors shop. The BBC were filming there so couldn't go in the higher part of the house but still had a great time. The gardens were full of colour too, and the lake was a breath of fresh air.

shirley coleman — Google review

It's an amazing country house and park, worth visiting. A lot of history behind the walls.Very polite and knowledgeable staff, a good coffee shop and lunch place also and a gift shop. A good day out with the family. There is a two-car park, the first one is a bit far 2, 5 km. Walk and the other one it's near the house. Plenty of stuff to do in and around the house.Have fun 🎢

Penko Penchev — Google review

A 'must go' place! Amazing collection of paintings and scupltures. This is pure/direct insight in the past and artist's skills. The carved room is just something else... The Petworth town is also stunning. The views from Petworth House Park are just breathtaking. It's England at its best. At the House itself, there's a cafe, toilets, buggy service for elderly/disabled (to and from car park) and lovely ice cream stand too.

Jaroslaw Dulnik — Google review

Beautiful grounds! Moderate hiking with ponds and deers. Great place to take a dog out for a day. Parking £4 for a day and there are 2 car parks. The car park with House has toilets, the other one more north for deer park doesn't.

Katie — Google review

Great place to walk dogs and kids! Usual National Trust set up with house and gardens & huge deer park with a lovely lake a few hundred metres from the house. They had loads of games for the kids out on the lawn which was nice.

Marc Leckie — Google review

We had a pleasant day at Petworth. We arrived in the pay n display car park and checked in at the Visitor Reception. We got a map and headed towards the house. We passed the 2 follies and made it to the house area. The house was massive and looked interesting, but we headed into the servants' quarters first. We looked into the old kitchens and found a lovely second-hand book shop too. We really enjoyed the shop and, of course, picked up a pin badge and fridge magnet. We made our way into the house, and we were really happy and surprised that we could take the buggy in as most National Trust houses don't let you, so that really helped us as a family. I really enjoyed all the artwork within the house. It was beautiful. I really liked the painting that had a load of other paintings in. I also enjoyed the spectacular Greek myth staircase area, which a volunteer told me about them. I loved the Turner paintings too and couldn't believe how many there were.Eventually, after seeing so much art, we made it out of the house and tried to go to the tearoom for lunch. Even though we arrived before 12 pm, it was already full, and there was a massive line, so we decided to make do with the snacks we brought. We managed to find a bench, but lots of people were unlucky as there wasn't much seating. After lunch, we went down to the lake in front of the house. I have never seen so many geese! They were really entertaining and we had lots of pictures around that lake. We made it up the hill next to the lake. I really struggled with the buggy, but I made it💪 we loved the massive tree with a hole in it. We were a bit disappointed there wasn't much there for children. All in all, we did enjoy the art and the landscape it's not something we will probably come back to unless they have more stuff for children.

Arboretum

Art dealer

The Sculpture Park is an outdoor exhibit located in Farnham that offers a unique blend of art and nature. It spans across 10 acres of arboretum and features over 650 sculptures, with meandering footpaths leading visitors through the picturesque wildlife water garden. The exhibits are arranged into four coloured trails, which wind around trees and lakes for approximately 2/3km.

A great selection of different sculptures are placed around the place as you wind through the pretty walkways. All incorporated into the trees and vegetation it feels very magical. You cross over water and bridges and there is so much to look at. Some of the sculptures are available to buy if that's your kind of thing. The staff are very friendly and informative. There is no café available which I was surprised at but you are allowed your own food and drinks and there are plenty of shelters and benches to sit down and relax.

Karl Venus — Google review

An interesting place to visit for sure, some of the sculptures are very good and some not so great, but overall it’s an interesting experience which I would recommend. The walkway meanders round a route for around 2/3km and it took us about 2 hours to walk it.No coffee or food is available, so you’d need to bring your own.

Michael M — Google review

A wonderful place packed full of art. You could definitely spend half a day here. We had a push chair and asked for the accessible route and we were sent on the yellow one which turned out not to be accessible however we managed to lift the pram and transverse our way up and down the steps and windy paths much to our amusem*nt! We did then find the green accessible route and very much enjoyed viewing the large array of sculptures on offer. You are welcome to park at the pub and nip out to it for lunch and come back. We ended our trip at the pub with a lovely cider and a g&t! Worth a visit ,only reason it's not 5 starts is we felt it was slightly more expensive than we felt it was worth as we couldn't access the blue or red trail.

Sophielyse — Google review

Really lovely huge sculpture park with 800+ peices to see. Some parts independently accessible for powered wheelchair users - lots of steep, uneven ground, tree roots ect, many steps without railings.Incredibly lovely welcoming staff. Would be lovely if all the benches you are allowed to sit on were more obvious- everything is so beautiful & hand made its had to tell! Toilet is accessible but might need to have storage tower moved for side transfering. Will definetly be returning.

Elizabeth White — Google review

Somewhere had wanted to visit for a while and in the main enjoyed the visit, took nearly 3 hours to get round. Reception staff very friendly and information provided very helpful. If I had any criticism it would be less is more. So many sculptures felt bit busy. Few places to stop for own snack/drink but tbf that probably comes with its own issues. Sculptures bit out of my price range but lovely day out and created discussion on art and its subjectivity.

Grace Simmonds — Google review

A fantastic find! I was in the area visiting for just one day and it was suggested that we go here. I am glad we did. The park is full of sculptures with huge variety. The routes through the outdoor 'gallery' are well thought out and would be a great walk through the woods and around the lakes, even without the sculptures. I would definitely go back and would recommend to anyone in the area who is lost for somewhere to visit for a few hours

stephen danbury — Google review

The camera does not do it justice! A place where nature meets art and magic is born. Every twist and turn, nook and cranny, ground to tree top was covered with masterpieces. Upon arrival there was ample parking (all ground level) and noticeably a pub opposite in case you wanted some grub. For £15 per person and a trail that takes 1.5-3hours with no time limit or even grievance againat leaving the grounds and coming back again this sculpture park is a truly hidden gem. Once stepping past the entrance gate you feel like you've fallen into Wonderland or better yet the secret garden! My only reason for not 5* is that I believe they should invest in a horsebox at reception that provides hot/cold drinks. All routes are labelled and are not to physically demanding but I would take pause if you are in a wheelchair because as much as it is lovely, not all of it is fully accessible due to the acres of land they have. However, anyone with walking aids and canes can find themselves going along at their own pace. There are plenty of benches for rest at lots of intervals as well.A truly hidden gem that emulates the wonder of the secret garden and highlights the beauty of sculptures.

Hope Mcguire — Google review

Wonderful place. As you wander through the beautiful grounds you come across a very wide variety of sculptures. Plus they allow dogs!

Grantly Lynch — Google review

Gentle 2 and a bit hour walk, viewing literally hundreds of different sculptures in a pleasant woodland setting. Definitely worth a visit. Dog friendly but mostly need to book in advance.

Adam Saunders — Google review

I didn't know what to expect prior to arrival and while sculptures are not my thing I really enjoyed myself here. There are so many incredible works of art to look at that my 2 and half hours visit didn't do it justice. This must be one of the best collections of sculptures available and rather than being in a dull museum are located in a wonderful location. I'll hopefully return soon. Highly recommended!!

Will Thompson — Google review

Absolutely beautiful place, the staff are so friendly and helpful there is you need them. The park itself is like walking into a fairytale forest with waterfalls and beautiful sculptures everywhere you look. So much to see and a beautiful picnic area halfway round to sit and eat in peace and quiet. You can take dogs here on a short lead and it's nearly all in the shade so perfect for a hot day. Each sculpture has a QR code so if you want.more information or to buy its all there for you to find. There's something for everyone.

Blagga D — Google review

Visited many times over the years, staff are lovely and it’s so magical and peaceful here. Was raining when we visited but there tree cover means it’s still a good rainy day activity and means it’s quieter than usual. Wear good walking shoes when visiting 😁

Very nice place for a day out, Need to be dry day as the place is in the middle of a forest. Need a lit a bit rearranged the arrow with itinerary, because is confusing. All together lot's to wiew and also you can by some sculpture. Is definitely a YES, Need to be seen.

Great place, spent half a day here and still haven’t seen every statue properly as we had to hurry up when it was getting dark. Absolutely worth a visit!

Had a lovely day out, spent about 5 hours out which included a coffee break at pub across the road. No cafe on site but no problem, they have toilets. Staff was polite and informative. Absolutely hundreds of sculptures to see and the trail was quite easy to follow.

Weald & Downland Living Museum is a remarkable museum that showcases the evolution of rural life from 1300-1910. The restored farmsteads with animals and interactive activities offer an immersive experience into history. In addition to being renowned as the location of BBC TV show, The Repair Shop, this museum also provides insights into how people lived and manufactured goods during different periods. With over 400 volunteers, the staff at Weald & Downland Living Museum are knowledgeable and helpful.

This is an amazing place, not only the home of the BBC TV show The repair shop also our history of how things were made and how we lived and changed with the times. All the staff here are helpful and very knowledgeable, they pride them self's on having over 400 volunteers. Great place for the kids and plenty of open spaces. On site cafe had home made food on as well as a great selection of gluten-free and vegan options. The cakes are wonderful, and they sell local ice-cream again they have a vegan option too. Can't praise this place enough ☺️.

I absolutely loved it 🥰 beautiful countryside in a lovely area. Amazing buildings restored to their former glory, interesting, lovely lake full of ducks & a beautiful café & shop overlooking the water. The volunteers are lovely & very informative. The highlight also was the repair shop & meeting Dom & the Teddy ladies, lovely & obliging. Well worth a visit for all the family. Thank you 💜

Wonderful day out to step back in time - see persevered original buildings from the surrounding area, along with knowledgeable volunteers and crafts people who work in some of the buildings. Dogs are welcome (on lead) but aren't allowed in some buildings. There are plenty of things to see, lots of lovely walking routes, a nice cafe and shop Ample parking and toilets. Everyone we met who worked there was super helpful and friendly. As an added bonus we had a Morris dancing demonstration when we went 🙂 (oh and of course, it's where they film The Repair Shop which you can visit of they are not filming.

Great place to go. Beautiful landscapes and the museum really gives you a trip back in time. Children loved the play zone. We had to deal with some showers on the day but hey ho this is England and it is what it is!!!

Weald & Downland Living Museum was one of my first favorite places to frequent after moving to the UK. The museum has a wonderful collection of various traditional buildings and construction styles used around the surrounding area. It’s an adventure for all ages with tranquil paths throughout the museum. If you’re lucky, the bakery may be open with a fresh batch of baked goods to purchase.

Fantastic place to visit 10 out of 10!!!Visited the Repair Shop Barn. (You can look in through the doors when they aren't filming).Well set out. Friendly volunteers on site. We watched different activities that were going on.. Good cafe. Lovely cup of latte. We enjoyed it so much that we brought membership tickets. We will be back.

Truly the highlight of our stay in Chichester. Was blown away by the volunteers working in the museum, how they shared so many details about each house and how people lived back then. The houses themselves, to be disassembled and reassembled on site, the scale and complexity blew my away.We also caught the 2pm free tour of the gridshell building. Gorgeous and ingenious architecture.Truly one of the best open air museums I've ever been to. Highly recommend.

Cezar-Eduard Durbaca — Google review

I love this open air museum, it definitely benefits for a visual learner like me. The pond was beautiful with sunny weather. The staff and volunteers were very knowledgeable about the buildings. The most amazing thing is that all buildings have been dismantled then rebuilt it with the original materials and the buildings are still function for example the Carpenter workshop and the dry brick area!!

Sharmaine Cheung — Google review

We visited mainly to see The Repair Shop as it was an open weekend. I've never been here before apart from to see an open air theatre production and a classic car show so never had the opportunity to have a proper walk round. There's a lot to see and I didn't manage it all during this visit. The preserved houses were fascinating, especially as each one has a volunteer inside explaining more about each one. There is a nice chilled out atmosphere here with plenty of places to stop for refreshments. There could do with being more benches to sit on and rest, especially for those who might find all the walking more of a challenge. The tudor kitchen was open which was particularly interesting and love the wood smokiness, you really feel like you are back in time. I hope to visit again to see more.

Tracey ARnold — Google review

You need a whole day to appreciate everything, so get there early! Take drinks with you, as the refreshment vans close before the main Cafe & if you are facing a hot day & are still exploring you could have 1½ hours without a drink.Staff/volunteers are amazing, helpful, knowledgeable, hard working & welcoming. It's dog friendly, but be aware there are chickens and ducks wandering round. We found parking easy, and there are portable loos dotted about that are well maintained. The houses are just fantastic, collections, displays, working life, living..... Inspiring & fascinating. Well worth the money. We saw where TRS is filmed but as they were actually filming, we're not allowed near it. Children & adults alike will love it. Thank you for a smashing day.

Absolutely fantastic day out. So much to see and some nice activities for the younger visitors like Table Top Jousting. Fun to watch even if your not taking part. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The facilities were clean and plenty of picnic seating. We love to watch The Repair Shop so seeing the barn was very special. I would highly recommend a visit.

From the visitors' centre to the buildings themselves, not forgetting all the really genuinely helpful, smiley and knowledgeable staff, this is a lovely, interesting place to visit. I just wish we had been able to see all of the "exhibits" (which are spread out over a quite large area of beautiful countryside with well-tended paths), but my (82 y.o.) Father was feeling tired...we will be back...but without him 😊

Mat Dodol — Google review

A stunning location, covering many acres, most open fields but a fair bit of woodland. Many houses and other buildings lovingly removed from development areas in the south east and carefully relocated at the museum. Clean and modern cafe/shop/loo buildings at the entrance do not seem out of place.

Visited on 7th July. We would need another two visits to see it all. Great facilities, toilets, and ice cream outlets spread around site in Shepherd's huts. Lovely welcoming staff in them and the girls serving in the Cafe. Not so welcoming was the older male on the admissions counter (maybe he thought we were too young to ask for Senior concessions I'm 68 and my husband is 67) and the female volunteer in the museum.Very hot day and gravel path became a bit hard to walk on after a while. We would recommend a visit to all.

I love this place. Old reclaimed buildings from Medieval period onwards. Architecture and History and set in the beautiful rolling hills of West Sussex. All the people at the exhibits were warm, friendly and extremely knowledgeable about not just the buildings but the people who lived in them, it's a rich social history. You come away grateful that we have advanced so much and homes have double glazing instead of wooden bars. The cafe is great too.

Excellent day out with the family, lovely setting with lots of interesting buildings scattered around to explore. Most buildings have experts inside to give you a bit of history. Allow about 3 hours to explore but could stay longer. Recommended for kids of ages.

Stunning history. Was mainly going because of the TV series 'The Repair Shop", but it ended up being a very interesting visit. I love when a nation preserves their identity and culture. Very well done and an excellent way to lose some calories. Very nice people, they love to tell you about their history and past time stories.

My first visit and highly recommended. Hands on history, great walks, marvellous information, varied buildings to explore, worth the money, very friendly staff and I will return. Thank you for a great day.

Chichester Cathedral is a beautiful, old Anglican cathedral in Chichester, West Sussex, England. It's known for its twin aisles and Romanesque window openings, as well as its campanile. The cathedral has been undergoing restoration since 2007 and is open to the public for guided tours twice a day.

Wonderful history attached to this cathedral. Well worth a visit to see it and worship here. Very well maintained, and spotlessly clean. Warm inside on a cold day, and a warm welcome at the door. Guide was very informative and helpful.

David M — Google review

The visit was primarily to see the Festival of Flowers which comprised of 50,000 blooms across 60 installations. It was a magnificent backdrop that delighted the senses. The theme was Life In All It's Fullness, perhaps reminding us that connection with nature and each other is so integral to our well being. The Cathedral itself is an architectural delight. The moment you enter, it is impossible not to stop and take in the harmonious blend of arches, curves, stained glass windows and plinths rising from floor to ceiling. The art forms are just incredible. From the vibrant Chagall window, the tapestries, paintings, windows, sculptures and even the excavated Roman mosaic floor. A diverse celebration of worship through art from floor to ceiling. The Chapels are perfect for reflection and prayer and even as you take the magnitude in, the Cathedral still manages to feel intimate. You will leave feeling at peace and in awe.

One of the greatest cathedrals in the country. It was 900 years ago. Currently under restoration and repair work. There is an original Roman mosaic you can see through the floor glass on the right towards the back of the cathedral. A lot of interesting facts about the bishops were in charge in the cathedral in the past. Free entry but welcome for donation. You can use your contactless payment to do this. Photo taking are allowed in the cathedral. Staff are friendly and helpful. Toilet and shop are available. Paid Parking are on the street parking or car park. It’s £2.2 an hour. We had enjoyable visit this morning. Recommend to all.

FREE ENTRY with a non obligatory suggested donation of £5.New clean unisex loos, which are wheelchair accessible.Beautiful architecture and will be standing after much of Chichester tosay has been pulled down and rebuilt several times.

The cathedral is absolutely stunning. I come here whenever I'm in Chi to light a candle for my dad and my friend who passed away this year in the quiet Chapel. The peace Doves are currently in the cathedral and they are stunning. Also a must is Bishops Palace Gardens, stunning 💕.

Sandy Taylor — Google review

A lovely old cathedral. Take a look outside and you’ll see the remains of the original tower which is much older than the rest of the main building. Has a hogwarts feel to the place. Worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Chris Gledhill — Google review

The moon installation was spectacular. There was a queue but we managed to be in and out in less than an hour.We were able to roam around inside the cathedral and explore its glory. There was a choir practice during our visit and they all sounded so lovely.

The area is friendly and has alot to offer including shops food venues. You can't not head towards a stunning cathedral. It was amazing to see a lovely place away from London with my partner.

David Rodgers — Google review

Founded as a Cathedral in 1075 as you approach it from Chichester town centre it looks rather unassuming.A mix of Norman and Gothic architecture. The cathedral has many treasures and artworks and is certainly worth visiting.

Jo G — Google review

Just randomly walked and loved the time spent. The guy managing the crowd was kind enough to introduce himself and stated “he been to southern India tamilnadu” and asked me about northern india as well. Served us with few chocolates too. Would visit again!

Lucky — Google review

What a magnificent cathedral! So rich in history and there is even a Roman mosaic floor. It’s divided into different chapels that occupies a corner of the cathedral each. My favourite was the one in the far right hand corner that is reserved for private prayer.

Mimi Che — Google review

Stunning cathedral with magnificent architecture and a history dating back to 1075. Interesting features include the detached medieval bell tower, 17th century organ, beautiful stained glass windows, and a section of Roman mosaic presented under a glass floor. The view up to the decorated ceilings of the towers was particularly impressive. Free to visit; donations are welcomed.

Andrew Thomas — Google review

An absolutely delightful Catherdral to visit. So many now are ruined by excessive entrance fees, tourist signs, one-way system etc which ruin the experience. But here there is no forced entrance fee. However the suggested £5 donation if you can afford it is a much better idea. The greeters were genuinely pleased to welcome us and give us a guide. There are toilets here too.The Catherdral itself is a gem. Not one of the largest but architecturally very rich. The mosaic floor and romanesque carvings were certainly very interesting. There was a nesting peregrine falcon when we were there and there were two experts outside pointing them out. Amazing that they come here each year to nest.Really recommend a visit if you come to Chichester. You won't be disappointed.

Adam Sewell — Google review

My second visit & definitely not my last!So many wonderful things to see. Many thanks to Mike, the friendly & well-informed guide, for pointing out fascinating things I would have missed.Amazing that he studied only a few miles from where I live in Kent!

Sally Yonish — Google review

Beautiful cathedral. Great history.I would recommend going to a cathedral service with the choir singing to get the real spiritual experience of this incredible building. The Epiphany service around the 6th Jan used to be a real highlight of the year. Apparently the Cathedral are brining it back.If you go to the cathedral you must visit the Cathedral gardens

Patrick Bastow — Google review

Impressive historic Cathedral. you make a donation to enter. Peter Walker's art installation, ‘Peace Doves’ was on display during our visit which was emotive in its own right.

Michael Carrington — Google review

Helpful staff right at the door giving leaflets and explain what to see.At the right side at the end there is a Roman mosaic preserved under a glass cover. There is treasury and giftshop on site. There are toilets as well in the church. It is very modern and clean.

Alice Holt Forest, located approximately 4 miles from Farnham in Surrey, is a popular outdoor destination for families with children. This royal forest was originally used for hunting and now managed by the Forestry Commission offers a variety of outdoor activities. The wood from Alice Holt was once used to build many Royal Navy ships. Kids can enjoy cycling using the available hire facilities or explore the natural beauty of North Downs and Surrey Hills.

We have been a few times now, and we love it, very big spacious woodland, grufalo ftail kids enjoy dongong the sculptures, and the superwork trail and we've been when it was grufalo train, kids love to do the activity pack. My dog also loves the woods. Highly recommended for a lovely family day out 💖🥰

Absolutely fantastic place. Beautiful scenery and walks designed for all ages with directions so you cannot get lost. Great play trail for the little ones to keep them entertained. Lots of space to park (bit pricey) but it hasn't put me off wanting to go again.

Chris Allum — Google review

Lovely buggy friendly walks, be warned that cafe and car park are a little pricey. However this is a lovely piece of well maintained woodland with some nice Julia Donaldson themed sculpture walks/ events. It also has a nice playpark and bicycle routes

The forest itself is a beautiful place with the opportunity to see deer amongst the wildlife. Plenty of trails of varying lengths and there is always a children's trail there (currently Zog). The play parks are lovely and well kept. The cafe is pretty expensive, but the food is good and carparking can be expensive too.

Beautiful and lovely scenic forest walk, went with all 5 kids and our 19 week old co*ckapoo puppy. It was great to get out what ever the weather, great parking and lovely cafe which also provides dog ice cream and there is also on site toilets. There is a gruffalo trail which was great to see the kids working together to get to the end and collect their prize. Cant wait to go again soon!

Liza Brockwell — Google review

Birdworld, located in Bucks Horn Oak near Farnham, is the largest bird park in the UK, covering over 26 acres of land. With more than 600 birds on display, visitors can enjoy daily events such as penguin feeding and animal encounters. A safari train also operates within the park. The venue is family-friendly and includes Jenny Wren Children's Farm. The staff are friendly and accommodating to disabled and autistic adults with wheelchair access available throughout the premises.

We'll definitely be going back.. went not knowing what to expect but my daughter and I had a great time! Plenty to do and look at. Cafe was a bit pricey, but when you feel like it's going to a good cause, you don't mind as much! Highly recommended for half a day of fun

Josh Eicke — Google review

A fantastic place to visit especially if you love birds, lots of species even endangered ones. Little ones will enjoy it too. Visited the place with a toddler and a baby and had a great experience. There is also a playground and snake and coffee stops with toilets in between with baby change as well( wanted it a bit cleaner though). A mini farm with lots of animals I'd there too to visit hens, gooses, rabbits, turkeys, guinea pigs, goats and a pig, wich you can pet and feed as well. Parking space in front for free and a souvenir shop. Would definitely go again once babies older so they can understand a bit more what they see.

The Front desk was very unorganized when we walked in. Lots of people were just waiting to be checked in.Nice collection of Birds and Farm animals. There are 2 play areas for kids to enjoy slides and swings. Nice coffee shop near the entrance. There are 2 big Tractors in the green patch for the kidsIce cream station at couple of points with Benches.

I support disabled and autistic adults. Brought two of our clients here and had a really lovely day. Staff was very friendly and helpful, the birds are stunning and we all enjoyed seeing them. The whole place was clean, tidy, well sign posted and informative also easy to move round with a wheelchair. Lots to see and do, I highly recommend.

Fantastic place to visit. Birds and animals well looked after. Laid back atmosphere. Friendly staff. Educational talks. Lots to do. Benches everywhere for rests. Large open space if you are worried about covid. Kids love seeing the animals.

L A — Google review

Amazing array of birds in a well laid out park. Many endangered and exotic birds in large enclosures. Nice entertaining educational talks throughout the day. We loved our day which ended with a visit to the farm park. There were many picnic areas and snack shacks.

Kathy H — Google review

Always a great place to visit and stroll around the park. The farm is great and you can interact with many of the animals. Good variety of bird species as you would expect. Ample parking and good disabled access. Toilets are clean and tidy. No smoking or vaping on site.

D C — Google review

We really enjoyed our time here, even in the cold of January. Very informative talks from the friendly staff, happy to answer all questions you may have. Particularly enjoyed the open areas we could walk through.

Good day out with the kids. Lots to see and do, as it is kind of off-season, it was quieter but also meant some things were closed or didn't have certain species on display. We took a picnic with us and ate this at the furthest point of the park. Most of the kiosks were also closed, just the main cafe was open.Definitely will be going again

Daniel Schofield — Google review

Took my grandson here on a Friday during half term. It was busy but its such a big place it didnt matter. I booked tickets the day before. The birds all look very healthy and the aviaries were all very clean. Sometimes its a little sad to see the birds in captivity but they are doing very valuable conservation work here which you can get involved with by adopting a bird. It was a wonderful day out and leaves you astonished at the stunning varieties of our feathered friends. Well worth a visit.

Teresa Rizzi — Google review

Overall a pleasant experience. Kids loved it. Lots of lovely birds as well as farm animals. The little farm was very cute. The reason I couldn't give 5 stars was due to the cafe. I was slightly disappointed that there was no where comfortable to breastfeed my baby as they had sectioned off the sofa seating area early to clean it/ around 4.30, which meant I had to awkwardly feed on a standard chair outside. I had asked if it was at all possible to feed there even though it was cordoned off but was told the floor was still wet. I totally understand people want to get off in time at the end of the day, but seeing those are the only comfortable seats could a different area be closed off and cleaned first (if it has to be done so early before closing?) I just found it was very early for cleaning generally. Also the main toilets near the entrance need a proper cleaner, or more thorough attention to detail as there were thick cobwebs behind each toilet door and the corners, clearly just been missed but just an observation.

S Jay — Google review

Nice day out with the kids. Wasn't busy at all as we went on an inset day. We watched 2 talks, the parrot 🦜 talk and the penguin 🐧 talk. The speaker was absolutely amazing! She was really nice and great with the kids. It's quite a small park, so I'm glad I had a 20% discount code. However, the talker said most of the money goes on the upkeep of the birds.

Abby Morgan — Google review

Lots to do here and lots to see! Separate baby change to the gendered toilets so any gender can change baby’s nappies. Lots of play areas for older kids. The animals look well cared for and there were lots of talks throughout the day from really knowledgable staff who were engaging and friendly. It was a little difficult to see everything and also see all the talks/experiences but for us that just shows there’s a lot to see and do there and something for us to return and do next time! I would advise taking a picnic as the food is expensive for what it is (hence the lost star). The smaller cafes around the park are open ‘seasonally’ and some weren’t open when we went in May but the main cafe was open and had everything you may need. The gift shop also seemed to close before the park closed so our son was incredibly disappointed with that. There is free parking on site which was good, unlike many places these days. All in all, a very good day out and we would go again but we would continue to take our own food and make sure we leave plenty of time to have a look around the gift shop next time!

Joanne Oxford — Google review

Amazing day out can easily spend 4-5 hours here! Lots of amazing animals! However, I felt food was overpriced (£4.95 for a sandwich that's the same as you can get in a meal deal from a supermarket), would definitely recommend brining a picnic and using the picnic areas provided.

Callum Allsop — Google review

Absolutely brilliant place. Loved the variety of different birds you can see and all the farm animals towards the end. There are talks by the staff all the time, just check the schedule. They also have a cafe where you can buy snacks and drinks.

Coralie Pattenden — Google review

Really excellent day out with young children. Lots to see and do, with extra activities on for half term. Keepers were knowledgable and the feeding and talk sessions are well worth attending. I was genuinely impressed by the condition and maintenance of the site as it is an independent attraction. Will definitely visit again.

rebecca allen — Google review

Had a lovely trip here for my daughters birthday. There were hardly any other people there so quick to get in. There are a large range of bird to view, the co*ckatoo's in particilar are great and very entertaining. The talk and penguin feeding was also very interesting, there were also a few cheeky herons who snuck in to steal some of the fish. There is also a small farm at the back of the park but unfortunately when we got there they were putting all the animals to bed.The cafe at the entrance is okay, my pennine tasted a bit burnt as though the sandwich press hadn't been properly cleaned and there were old burnt crumbs suck to my lunch.Overall it was a great day and we will go back, though maybe with a picnic to have in their picnic areas. I would also happily recommend it to others for a day out.

The Museum at Fishbourne Roman Palace and Gardens is an amazing place that showcases one of the largest intact mosaics in the world, as well as recreated Roman gardens. The museum also includes a learning workshop area where visitors can learn about Roman culture and lifestyle.

Fabulous place to visit. The biggest Roman Palace ever found in Britain. Really well laid out for all ages and no problems for the disabled. The mosaics are amazing and the information was clear and easy to follow. The video room was ideal for learning the history of the discovery. Superb.

Liz Armstrong — Google review

Very interesting and informative museum. It's much larger than you would expect. The roman flooring is amazing. We came on their summer open weekend, so there were lots of stalls & great entertainment. The gardens are beautiful. Will definitely come back again.

Sandy Taylor — Google review

Stunning mosaics that come in large quantities; really worth a visit if you are interested in Roman architecture and art. The museum display is somewhat less satisfying: too technical. Illustrations look as if coming from published articles. Better specimen would be the Bloomberg findings and Corbridge Museum. Nevertheless there are many activities for children in the hands on zone. The Roman garden is also quite interesting.

Huiling Zhang — Google review

Came today with a school group on a coach. Welcomed by a staff member to come inside, it was absolutely amazing 🤩, thank you for the hospitality and service, hope to come back again in the near future.👌

Erwin Weyers — Google review

Good hour walk around, nice garden outside. Videos could be spread out abit to stop crowding.Cafe could do by being a bit bigger for the amount it was serving, staff seemed to be abit short for space. Greater care could've been taken when cleaning cutlery, mine had obviously been missedOverall the palace is worth visiting at least once.

Benjamin Murtagh (Benjamin Murtagh) — Google review

Remarkably well preserved Roman palace in the middle of suburbia next to the main road. Spend a long time wandering around and imagining how life was almost 2,000 years ago. Some remarkably well preserved mosaics…

dave chamberlain — Google review

Fascinating place. Great see the remains being cared for so well whilst also allowing them to be visited. Be sure to get in on one of the guided tours, so much easier to understand what you are looking at. Plenty of car parking and cafe on site.

Chris More — Google review

Absolutely fantastic, the kids loved it. We loved it. Incredibly preserved. And the little secondhand bookshop was a nice bonus and really hard not to be the best bit haha.

Kirsty Handford — Google review

I first came to Fishbourne about 30 years ago, and while not much has changed in the artefact displays, there are some interesting additions to the story. There are new gardens built on the original layout and a great new video telling the story of the discovery and history of the villa. Entry price is still considerably lower than some other roman sites we have visited

Peter Crossman — Google review

Reasonably well preserved mosaics, well-interpreted grounds, and a solid museum makes the Fishbourne Roman palace a solid destination for Ancient History fans.Bonus points having some stuff for young children - helping them learn about archaeology and Romans. It’s not monumental, but it is well presented and informative.

The Vyne, a National Trust property, is an intriguing country estate boasting a beautiful stained glass chapel, ornamental lake and walled kitchen garden. Visitors can admire the impressive tapestries inside the house or take in stunning views of the property while strolling around the lake. Although guide books were unavailable at the time of visit, there are many dog-friendly walks to enjoy through tall pine trees and around various areas of the estate.

Nice long walk with trails and fields and great views from outside the trust. Just visited today to understand the place and distance would visit with family next time to see the trust. It seems to be good half a day spend time to cover the surroundings of the trust and also visit the trust house. Anyone looking for good 6-7 mile walk altogether from town center worth visiting.

kamesh telikicherla — Google review

A most interesting house to visit. The tapestries were fascinating. Some of the best that I have seenI also enjoyed walking around the lake which offers very good views of the houseOne frustration was that there were no guide books available for sale. Apparently they are waiting for them from the printers. I would have thought that they would have ordered them well in advance in anticipation of the start of the tourist season.

Paul Hallgarth — Google review

Another stunning property from National Trust. The house is beautiful, well maintained with all original possessions, and its display of different styles, Tudor, Victorian. The gardens are magnificent. The land is perfect to walk and explore the breathtaking views. And all staff super warm and friendly.Just perfect to enjoy the day out!

Laura F. — Google review

A nice national trust place to visit. Building work makes the entering of the place a bit narrow and long but once in it has lovely flowers and lake. Didn't visit the house today but seen it before and it's worth a walk round. The walks round the ground can be very muddy so not fit for all people, but has a lovely little bird watching hut! Not sure on non paying people being able to do the walks on offer without a ticket. The cafe is small and underwhelming - but plenty of outside sitting available and picnic benches throughout aswell. My kids enjoyed the games out on the lawn the snakes and ladders and sack races. Enjoyable place for a family day out.

Vikki Russell-Stapylton — Google review

Absolutely beautiful gardens. The walled garden so pretty with an abundance of dahlias. All staff welcoming and helpful. We ate in the café, which was very nice ( no pictures, sorry) but with hindsight we would take a picnic as there are so many different little areas to sit. A lovely day out.

margaret morgan — Google review

A great place to visit. Over the Christmas period (2023), the property is beautifully decorated with the story of The Nutcracker. I would recommend everyone to get to the property early as it can get quite busy. The house is fabulous, and the grounds are huge. There is a lake and a wooded area. It's an easy walk around and great for the children to explore. I would recommend anyone of all age groups to visit. There is plenty of parking

Marcia S — Google review

Beautiful gardens caught betwixt Winter and Spring...will be magnificent in a month or two. Lovely walk through the property to the bird hide at the lake. Sadly the interior of the house was riddled with furniture covered with dust covers which means a return visit. The tapestries and artwork were exquisite and highlighted the history of the house. The cafe had a few issues with queues for hot drinks but the soup and hunk of bread was wonderfully tasty.

Pippa McHale — Google review

Really beautiful grounds and nice woodland walks. A walk through the house is an amazing experience - the staff are the most knowledgeable I have come across in any visit to a National Trust venue (in fact any venue for that matter). They really brought the history of the house to life. A huge thank you to all concerned.

Wayne Arnold — Google review

Just visited the gardens today. The wild flowers in the walled garden are lovely. A good place to visit and walk round. Work on the lake means you can't walk round it at the moment, but but lots of other walkways and places to sit, and excellent ice creams!

Julia Dimond — Google review

Magnificent Tudor house, with gardens and woodlands. Good fun trying to spot the birds and wildlife in the wetlands, from the bird hide. Nice walks through the woodlands, and beside the lake. Unfortunately, due to ongoing works, it's not possible to walk all round the lake at the moment.Lovely place to relax or have a picnic on the lawns in front of the house, there's lots of picnic tables and seats around. The tea room is quite small, although there's more seats upstairs, and was very busy, so there was quite a queue outside.

David Sherratt — Google review

We visited in December and while the gardens have been a victim of the weather, it does appear to be a place that is stunning in spring. We will certainly be back to visit with better weather. The house itself was lovely, the Christmas theme surrounded the Nutcracker story and you follow the fairytale and you go around the rooms while also seeing the collections and paintings of the old families.

George Christou — Google review

My review is based on the grounds, cafe and shop. Went in February when the house was not open to public. Pleasant, peaceful place to go for a walk. Plenty of birds to see and hear on the wetlands. Cafe was okay had the jacket potato with vegan chilli and coleslaw £7.25. Got charged an extra pound for a little vegan cheese which wasn't very tasty. Was nice but potato and chilli portions were small. A mug of black coffee was about £2.75. The National Trust shop had some lovely items including plants, scarves, biscuits, chocolate, jewellery etc.. i think this would be a more enjoyable day out in the Spring and Summer when there are more flowers and plants to see on the grounds and when the house is open.

Nicola Thomas — Google review

One of the most beautiful buildings I saw so far.A big garden around where you can walk. A nice lake with birds which is lovely. There is an ancient aok that is more than 600 years old, magnificent. The house has a lot of beautiful paintings. There is also a shop and a little coffee restaurant for a break.Car park is not an issue, plenty of space and is free.

Stefano Erriu — Google review

Lovely, easy to follow woodland walks amongst very tall pine trees. Saw what I think may be roots but can find no other details about them. I didn't go in the house or cafe because I had my dog with me but everywhere else is dog-friendly and there's plenty to see walking through the grounds

AhhaRat36 — Google review

A beautiful country estate with stunning grounds to walk around and enjoy. Fantastic photo opportunities to the novice through professional. We didn't go into the house on this occasion but the option is there. Entry price is reasonable and a cafe provides hot and cold drinks and a bite to eat if required.

steve wares — Google review

An excellent experience! Beautiful grounds and building but the best part was the enthusiastic, cheerful, knowledgeable and helpful staff, really made the visit special.Very much recommend for a visit. The building has a rich and storied history and its rooms tell the tale themselves.

Lasura — Google review

Really enjoyed our first visit to The Vyne. As mentioned in other reviews the building work at the entrance detracts somewhat but once you are past it (and it's due to finish soon) you get to enjoy the tranquil peace of the place. As we had our dog with us we couldn't go inside the house but by all accounts there is plenty to see. We still however enjoyed walking the grounds, checking out the shop and sampling the cafe. Do walk around the front to see the house in all its splendour, explore the walled garden and visit the ancient oak tree and summerhouse. A really lovely NT property and one we will definitely return to.

Stu Radley — Google review

Stunning home, beautiful exterior. The tapestry hangings are exquisite. The panelling on the walls were from the Tudor period. It's incredible to think Henry V111 had walked the same rooms as us today! The walk around the lake was peaceful.Fantastic old tree next to the summer house and lovely walled vegetable garden.

Visited on a chilly day in January, and we enjoyed listening to the guides in the house. Nice property with an interesting history. Had a nice stroll on the grounds, and we will visit again when the flowers are out.

Very beautiful house. It is not as big as other National Trust places but has a long and interesting history. The gardens are great to explore especially September where all the dahlias are in full bloom. The estate includes a wooded area as well ideal for walks. For those without a car the closest train station is Basingstoke and from there it's a 10 min taxi ride to the property (will cost around 10£).

Kostas — Google review

Visited with my husband on a Sunday. Beautiful grounds. The staff were very friendly and informative. Was ready to help and give information when they could. Nice cafe selling hot and cold food. The house is the large with plenty of rooms to look around. You could easily spend around 40mins in there or more. It was not busy so can easily go at your own pace and not be rushed. The river has walk which is very pleasant. We really enjoyed our day there.

Milestones Museum is an interactive undercover family attraction that recreates street scenes with vehicles, shops and homes. The museum offers an annual pass for a reasonable entry fee of 16 pounds. The facility has plenty to offer for children and adults alike, including games, a living museum display, a working pub with regulars and a sweet shop where one can purchase sweets using a ration card. Visitors can also enjoy the nice little cafe on-site.

Went to Milestones with the family, including 2 children and 4 adults during half term. What an amazing place. We paid £16 each for entry but it gives you an annual pass for a year. There was plenty for the children to do, and they had put on lots of games that kept the two kids occupied for 5 hours. The adults in the group also enjoyed the games but got chance to actually look at the living museum too.One thing everyone loves and is a nice addition is the sweet shop, buy a ration card and then you can use it to get some sweeties. It has a working pub (with regulars too) and a nice little cafe. We'll be going back soon in term time just with the wife to explore the museum.

Great place to spend time in , it's under cover so you don't have to worry about the weather. Well set out and great for all ages. The cafe does a good Verity of snacks or meals.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Visiting the Milestones Museum in Basingstoke was truly a journey through time that exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the meticulous attention to detail in every corner of this remarkable museum. Walking through the recreated streets felt like stepping back in time to the bustling Victorian era, with authentic shops, houses, and even a pub that truly brought history to life. One of the highlights of our visit was exploring the interactive exhibits, which offered hands-on experiences that were both educational and entertaining. From trying our hand at traditional crafts to learning about the evolution of transportation through vintage cars and trains, there was something fascinating to discover at every turn. What truly sets Milestones Museum apart is the passion and dedication of the staff. Their enthusiasm for history was infectious, and they were more than happy to share their knowledge and stories with us, enhancing our overall experience.Whether you're a history enthusiast, a family looking for a fun day out, or simply curious about the past, I cannot recommend Milestones Museum highly enough. It's a hidden gem in Basingstoke that deserves to be celebrated for its immersive and engaging approach to preserving local history. A five-star experience that left us eager to return and explore even more!

Lee — Google review

I'm probably being harsh giving 3 stars since I did enjoy my visit, however, everything was not quite so interactive for kids 2-8 as the website had seemingly implied. Especially as there was only one bus which you were allowed to get on while the website video seemed to advertise more, my two year old was dying to get on everything! I definitely think there is a missed opportunity to make things more interactive and kid friendly, and/or provide a bigger kids play space as the area next to the cafe was tiny (it was closed on my visit as well!). Parents would be visiting in troves to entertain the kids on rainy days if there was some tweaks to various equipment/vehicles and displays. Overall, enjoyable day out but some improvements could be made.

Gary Bywater — Google review

A lovely day out with the kids. A very relaxed environment with lots of parking on arrival. The place has lots of activities and is well-sign posted. Great arcades section - but do go armed with 50p coins as they will be needed, if you want to avoid using card payments. The older retro games require card payment via onsite money converter. There is a decent cafe on the ground floor with a reasonable selection of warm/cold food and a good selection of drinks. The nostalgic bar is pretty cool which serves real old Skool ales!!Well worth a visit and there are a number of places to eat close by if the cafe doesn’t suit.

Vikash Gandhi — Google review

This visit took me right back to my childhood. What memories and what a place to visit. I absolutely loved it. Highly recommended.

roslyn healey — Google review

Very nice museum, plenty to see for the elderly and beautiful exhibits. Ground floor is where the displays are and 1st floor is learning.Top floor theres a nice cafe for a coffee tea & cake. Small shop with plenty of souvenirs and there's an outside covered area for a picnic or just a breath of fresh air. Spent a couple of hours here and had a lovely time with our Dementia Care Home. Gave it 4 stars as we thought there could be a lot more exhibits, but we did like the place a lot and will be back again soon.

Kizzy Augustine — Google review

Lovely heritage museum. Lots to see and enjoy. Allow 2 to 4 hours for your visit depending upon how much you want to dwell and reminisce. Especially if you use the free Audio Guides - we spent 4 hours and skipped some of the Audio Guide sections. Don't miss the sweet shop that sells old style sweets or the pub for a pint, which opens at lunchtime. There's a nice café over looking the museum streets. It does hot lunches as well as tea, coffee and cakes. Also there's a well stocked gift shop - good for old fashioned gifts. All good. 😎 👍

Mark Poley — Google review

A wonderful trip back in time! This museum is well designed and takes you through the local history in a very atmospheric way.It really comes alive with its victirian streets, trades, and shops. You get to buy a "ration card" when you enter (£1.85) and use it to buy 2oz of sweets in the little sweet shop.It is a really interactive way for children to get to understand the changing periods of times and how they affected people living then.Nice little coffee shop with limited hot food, and snacks. Also, a fascinating gift shop selling all kinds of associated memorabilia from postcards to toys and old fashioned games and sweets. The only thing that was unexpected was that purchases made had the price, then vat was added separately on the receipt!Overall, fully recommended and much to learn about here.

Rose Bradshaw — Google review

A really lovely place to visit. The attention to details was amazing, they even made sure there were authentic smells in each area - for example, a place that had a fireplace, smelled like fire and coal, and a place that was to do with laundry, smelled of detergent. We even managed to get some sweets by presenting a ration book to the shop! We had loads of fun that day.

I P.L. — Google review

Fabulous day out. Was so lovely to walk the cobbled streets and look at the old transport and emergency vehicles etc. Lots of things to look at and we really enjoyed playing the old arcade games with real old one penny’s. The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable and welcoming. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back for sure ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

lee davies — Google review

Was a great day out for all ages. Really loved it. Makes it even better when u can come back for a year. Amazing thanks for a great day out x

Louise Stone — Google review

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The museum itself is good, not excellent. There's lift access for wheelchairs. The car park isn't big but then again nor is the museum. There are lots of little activities/games for children but some of these activities are in the smallest of areas where the public would have to squeeze round the outside single file in one direction to look and read the exhibits displayed, just move it out a little. There is an old pub there which does sell alcohol and kids can get a ration of sweets (if you pay for it with the ticket) which is good. The cafe and shop are what you expect with some food and items overpriced as we all know will be. Overall I would say it is worth the ticket price and going especially for smaller children and maybe some of the elderly (be warned it is cobblestone flooring so if you/they are unsteady make sure you/they take extra care).

Shopping Malls

Gunwharf Quays is a popular shopping destination, with designer fashion stores and bars, cafes and restaurants on offer. The mall has 95 outlets, so there's plenty of choice for shoppers of all interests. Parking is also affordable in the centre.

A lovely shopping venue. They have all the shops the majority would need or want. It's well laid out and decorated. Great for a day out with friends or families. Or a weekend away. Plenty of places to eat, drink and stop for a coffee. Parking is a bit expensive depending how long your going to spend here. If not the whole day, I would look for cheaper alternatives and take a short walk. I didn't get any photos inside the shopping area unfortunately as I was too busy looking around!

Lew Lew — Google review

Really nice shopping centre for a stop off if using the nearby Ports.Parking is fairly cheap in the centre.Lots of shops and restaurants to choose from.It is a really big place and worth a look just to look at the Spinnaker.I’d say although it is a covered shopping centre it is a outdoor centre really so dress accordingly.

Conner Regan — Google review

Great place to see water, boating and shopping. Easily accessible from southern sides of England. Best place for shopping at outlet. Most of the well known brand outlets are there and they are always cheaper than other places and always discounts. The parking is also not that expensive.Go, shop and enjoy!

Always happy to get back here. This time extra attraction to see Russian chap who sells sand (True- ordinary sand, very low quality. He doesn't sell kids sandpit sand as its not a great business) ... parked his boat next to the tower to save on hotel 🙄

TiC — Google review

Great shopping experience in the heart of Portsmouth and adjacent to the Historic Quay. Mainly designer-type stores selling at discounted prices. Plenty of places to eat and drink. Good parking underneath the shopping centre, although I would recommend the Park & Ride just off the M275 and only about 10 minutes bus ride to the entrance of Gunwharf Quays. Current cost is £4 return to cover car parking and family fare. Extremely frequent bus service so you can shop for hours without running up a huge parking bill.

Allan — Google review

My first time to this shopping area and I loved it! It helps that the weather was hot and sunny, so I could enjoy the sea views. There are lots of outlet stores that you don't get in Bournemouth or Southampton, plus a wide range of eateries with outdoor seating and views of the harbour. Much of shopping area is open and is so clean and tidy. There are lots of seating areas and it feels like you could go there just to relax - it's beautifully designed and is a very different shopping experience to indoor malls with horrible lighting. I'm looking forward to returning with more money...

First visit from Bournemouth good fast journey, easy to find and excellent parking. Many outlet designer shops with genuine reductions. Very smart area with lots of nice restaurants. Visited the Spinnaker Tower as well fabulous views

We were visiting the Spinaker for afternoon tea but walked through the Quays, which looked very nice, especially if you like shopping.

Vera Iveson — Google review

Really enjoyed our visit in the sunshine. Loads of nice eating places n fun to browse the designer outlet shops . Just looking as still expensive to buy. So nice to see all the shops occupied and lots of people about. Harbour boat trip was brilliant n well worth doing

Debbie Gifford — Google review

An absolute faboulous experience. We picked an extremely good day for it. The whole process of getting to the viewing area went seamlessly. There is a guide in the lift who explained what you are about to experience. Which is wonderful touch. It gets you in the mood. But what you see as the lift opens. Takes your breath away. I do not like heights but the way it was designed did not make you feel uneasy. The exact opposite. I was going from window to window taking lots of photos. There were telescopes with a speaking guide. Going through the sights and its history. This was reasonably priced. I even plucked up the courage to go along the Sky Glass. Again taking photos of 100m down. It was amazing. Even the Sky Garden which I was not too sure about. Was not that bad at all. With the netting overhead it meant you had a breeze blowing. Which gave you the feeling of being in the elements. It was money well spent and the whole family thoroughly enjoyed. Given a rare treat of a stunning sunset. Before we finished by doing a quick look at the shops on Gun Wharf Quays and a bite to eat. We took more photos of the structure outside. It was lit up and showed off the Spinnaker even more. Will definitely recommend to family and friends.

Christopher Lamptey — Google review

Absolutely great place for shopping, eating and taking in the views. The underground carport at the Gunwharf is brilliant. As you drive around it at the start of each bay in green lights it tells you how many spaces are available in that row. Each parking bay has a sensor, once you park it goes from green to red, brilliant system.

The combination of high-end stores, beautiful waterfront location, and unique architecture make it a must-visit for shoppers and tourists alike.

Seems a vibrant place for a day out with a good selection of shops and restaurants. Was actually surprised as a lot of towns seem to be closing down but here it appears very much alive. Also a pleasant place to relax with lovely views of the harbour, Spinnaker Tower and the Isle of Wight in distance.

keith grewco*ck — Google review

Gunwharf Quays is every shopper's delight, and there's no better way to cap a visit to the Spinaker Tower than to spend the rest of the day wondering from shops to shops. Most of the major brands are here and offer a sort of discount called "outlet price". The vibrancy and Seafront experience both make a compelling case to visit. And of course it is a great opportunity to have some beautiful pictures taken. The Gunwharf Quays is well maintained in my view, the toilets are quite clean and there's paid parking on site.

Ade — Google review

Great variety of high end shops, we visited by boat so used the marina facilities, which were pretty manky and not in keeping with the rest of the place. A stunning skyline and lots of nice places to eat too.

heather Collins — Google review

There are plenty of parking spaces, less busy when school is in session. Outlet shops seem to have cheaper pricing and sales. Toilet facilities are available and wheelchair accessible. It's about 2 minutes' walk to the spinnaker tower

Specialty Museums

The Mary Rose Museum is a maritime museum located in Portsmouth, Hampshire, England. It is dedicated to the history of the Royal Navy's Flagship, the Mary Rose, which was wrecked in 1545 and subsequently salvaged in 1982. The museum contains a large collection of artefacts from the ship and its crew, as well as exhibits about naval warfare and 16th-century Tudor life.

We bought yearly passes for our family to the dockyard in 2019, before the pandemic and loved to visit - the only nag being that the Mary Rose Museum was not included. We renewed recently, now its easier to visit attractions again and were delighted to find out that it was now part of our annual membership. I cannot express adequately in words how wonderful this museum is. You enter initially into an interactive chamber, with narration from a very familiar and famous voice. You get to meet Henry VIII himself and experience the Mary Rose sinking.Getting to see the ship itself is amazing; it's at the centre of the building and you work your way around it, through different displays and floors. You catch glimpses of it, as its kept in relative darkness until they suddenly bring the lights up and you get an idea of the scale of it. They have a hologram display which beams video of actors, portraying different members of the crew going about their business, directly onto the ship - which our kids loved. On the very top floor, you can finally go into the actual chamber itself (through an airlock, which the kids were delighted with). It's really eerie and ethereal experience. We visited during half term and the kids were invited to take part in special activities offered by the museum and made their own clay ships tiles. There are also interactive activities dotted about the building for the younger visitors to try. It's BRILLIANT, we will be back.

Vicky Greenwood — Google review

Incredible museum a must visit if you don’t have the Ultimate Explore ticket for the Historic Dockyards and are trying to decide which attraction/s to see 😉Over 3 levels you get a Fantastic view of what remains of the Mary Rose, the ‘top deck’ entered via an air lock lets you take photos without glass in between 👍🏻. As well as the boat herself you can view a large amount of recovered relics and remains of the sailors lost when she went down and amazing details about them…absolutely fascinating. There’s also a great 4D experience at the end, well worth a little wait at busier times, which goes through the history of recovering her. If it is busy you can go back at a quieter time and ask a member of staff to show you ‘the back route’ so you don’t need to navigate the whole museum again. There’s a large gift shop, of course, selling a wide range of souvenirs and gifts…some seemed reasonably priced and some seemed somewhat overpriced, in my opinion…a mug was in the sale for £20, reduced from £25 when I was there 😱Also a cafe just off the gift shop selling all the usual fare…didn’t try it so can’t comment on quality.

Jo Jhanji — Google review

Great place, full of history, the staff was absolutely lovely and everything is flawless.Lots of things to see and I strongly advise everyone to get the Ultimate pass tickets because you can come back any time during the year and you don’t have to pay again, plus it allows you to see everything in there.I would definitely come back after the HMS Victory is going to be restored. There is a car park nearby.

Stefan Alin Barbu — Google review

Great attraction. Very interesting exhibits well laid out. Amazing to think how old it is. The ship itself is so interesting to look at. You see something different every floor you go up.

keith c — Google review

Absolutely fantastic museum with a very understandable haunting feel to it.The displays are really cleverly done.So much information and so many artifacts.Warning: there are many skeletal remains on display. The coffee and muffins in the cafe were excellent.

Louise Bentley — Google review

Fantastic museum! Photos don't do it justice. If you love your history, you'll love The Mary Rose. Expert staff will guide you along as you explore the skeleton of a Royal warship and soak up the atmosphere. Then there's the the crew of the Mary Rose themselves and the stories they tell. Can't recommend enough. Set aside a few hours though: lots to see.

Mr SwanseaBoi — Google review

A most incredible experience ever for an exhibition here in the UK. It's a 4D experience, well worth a look. In fact you will need to allow ample time to experience everything.Highly recommended, it's exceptional.

Sadie Pemberton — Google review

I loved this place, this was the first time I've seen the Mary Rose dried out!!!! It's an amazing experience, you can see her and the many artifacts recovered on different levels of the museum it is really well laid out, be aware it will be low light because of the ship and no flash photography is allowed, also I would do this museum first it is the furthest away from the entrance but nice to go round before it gets busy

katie noel — Google review

Superb museum, which displays the ship "upright", when I last saw it, it was as recovered (ie on its side). Fairly dark but the lights do change to accentuate different aspects of the ship. The artifacts are very interesting and well displayed. A most excellent museum.

Andy Hoare — Google review

Excellent venue for a day trip with lots to see. We visited on a day when there were a low number of other visitors which made for a pleasant tour of HMS Victory and the Mary Rose. Both were excellent with the free audio guide for Victory particularly good. Portsmouth Harbour Station is only a few minutes walk away. We purchased a ticket valid for 12 months so will be back to see the rest of the attractions.

Graham McLachlan — Google review

There is so much to see here, and the way it has been set up is exceptional. This is an actual experience, not just a display or anything like that, and best of all for me is it is very easily accessible throughout with level surfaces throughout and large lifts to the different levels. If you are disabled and going with a carer, make sure you state this at the till as carer's get free entry when with you.

Michael Stevens — Google review

We visited for my husband's 40th birthday treat. It was a lovely museum, very interesting, so much to see..nice pace to walk around. For those who struggle with walking and standing long periods of time like my husband and myself, they had a lot of sitting places and you could carry alittle stool around with you.

Lynda Dawson-Brady — Google review

Amazing interactive museum, very well laid out and the artefacts are just fabulous. It’s very tasteful in its preservation of the souls which we’re found on board and their possessions. If you get a chance to go, then do, expect to be in the museum for a couple of hours and do look around the gift shop. The Mary Rose Trust is a charity and relies on sales and donations.

Sarah Cassidy — Google review

Fantastic place. I didn't realise the Mary Rose was so big. The team at the museum have done a great job of preserving the ship, and displaying it. Also a great job of displaying all the artifacts. Very informative.

Stuart Valente — Google review

Wow! What a fantastic piece of history. From the start of trying to find it, to what was uncovered, to raising the remains of the ship, just amazing! I loved this display and what they found, and seeing the ship, as well as the videos at the start, and the 4D movie at the end. Wonderful!

Spinnaker Tower, a highly contemporary tower built as part of the harbourfront's redevelopment and regeneration in the new millennium, is an awe-inspiring landmark with spectacular views of Portsmouth harbour. The tower is popular with tourists who enjoy visiting the on-site cafe and glass-floored platform overlooking the harbour.

Brilliant experience. Slightly terrifying if heights bother you. Views of Portsmouth were fantastic, even on a cloudy morning. The glass floor! Wow! I eventually drummed up courage to walk across. But very safe. Staff were very helpful and kind. Yes you get the lift up. But you will need to walk up stairs to upper cafe, which is lovely and sky garden. It’s all got glass, so no safety worries. No outside glass lift though. Will visit again. Good shop too.

Claudine West — Google review

Had the high tea which was very nice. Lots of cakes. Not sure about the sandwiches. It was for my mum and dad's golden wedding anniversary. I will not do the high tea myself again as I am not a great fan of cake. Think they do something in the morning if that is savoury then I might try that if I could get a group together. The views of the area are very good.

Andrew Mears — Google review

We knew we were going to love this attraction and we weren't wrong,it was brilliant and well worth the money, the views were spectacular even though the weather was not the best but it didn't dull our enthusiasm for a fantastic two hours well spent.

A must visit if you are in Portsmouth. It was an awesome experience to see the port from 170m height. Sky bar was closed till the time we reached 😞 Sky walk was great. Overall a must visit place.

Booked a high tea, which includes access to the tower and the sky garden. Breath taking views from the top floor, I absolutely loved it. It's located within the Gunwharf Quays, which has ample parking space and loads of shopping retailers. It's just a few minutes' walk from the train station, bus station, and the Portsmouth historic dockyard. Amazing family day out.Note that the tower can get really warm at the height of summer due to the glass.

Such a wonderful place! Been there for high tea for our date night and just felt in love with this place! Very friendly staff, great atmosphere, clean and comfortable. If you are not scared of high you definitely must visit Spinnaker Tower. Also you can go up to see Sky Gardens and walk through the glass floor on Deck 1. The views are breathtaking! When you book high tea you will have 1.5 hours to enjoy your experience, better book at evening time to enjoy a sunset! Highly recommended place!

Oksana *_* — Google review

Visited the tower with my partner and our 3-year-old daughter. We booked in advance but there were no queues anyway, on a bright and clear Saturday.A member of staff gives you a brief bit of background as you take the lift up to the first viewing platform. There are 2 talking telescopes for £1 a go, though one wasn't working but I assume they tell the same story. There is also a commemorative coin machine to make your own souvenir. The glass floor is fun to walk over and a great photo opportunity. You can then climb some internal stairs to the next floor where there's a cafe where most patrons we're having high tea. It's enclosed by large windows so you can enjoy the view still. If you want to eat here you'll need to book. We just sat for a refreshment whilst taking in the view. You can then climb another set of stairs to another viewing platform. This is partially enclosed by large glass panels, with an opening with netting above your head. Again the views were fantastic and plenty of photo opportunities.

We booked for the Christmas Tower Toymaker’s Workshop, it was absolutely fantastic. We were allocated our own elf and she was brilliant with the children. They spent their time writing letters to Father Christmas which they then got to post in his post box in the grotto. They then stuffed their chosen cuddly toy. Included in our visit was an all day pass to the tower, which was well used. Definitely recommend.

Francesca Hunt — Google review

Brilliant! Super fast lift whisks you up to the observation deck where you have amazing views of the Solent, Portsmouth and surrounding area. Plenty of information to help you identify landmarks. Glass floor is not for the faint hearted but certainly makes you aware of how high you are! Another 60 steps takes you up to the top level for more views. Worth a visit although not sure they needed to try to sell you the green screen pictures really.

Karen Ballantine — Google review

I really enjoyed this adventure. The top floor was anticlimactic but still fun. On the way to the 3rd floor, I stopped and read every sign posted on the walls, so it made the last few steps bearable. All the staff were pleasant and very helpful.

Shane Ball — Google review

An interesting tower where you can have beautiful views of Portmouth water front. Kids will enjoy the glass floor, which you could see through the height.

Hemanth Kumar — Google review

Spinnaker tower is brilliant once you get to the top! It's a lovely view and I also saw a concert going on when I was up there. I had a look at the telescope and saw lots of things. It is a little bit pricey though. The glass floor is so fun to go on! I definitely recommend this if you have the money.

Jessica Jordan — Google review

Took my daughter up there for her bday,Absolutely brilliant and it was Worth the price. However, I recommend buying an annual pass. I do find the meal a bit pricey but I guess with the view, it was well worth the price.

My recent visit to Spinnaker Tower left me thoroughly impressed. The panoramic views of Portsmouth and the surrounding areas were breathtaking, offering a unique perspective. The modern architecture and glass floors added an exciting touch to the experience. The staff's professionalism and the well-maintained facilities contributed to a positive visit. Whether you're a local or a visitor, Spinnaker Tower is a must-visit attraction, providing a memorable and enjoyable outing.

The HMS Victory Maritime Museum is a fascinating attraction in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, which traces its maritime history back to the 17th century. The museum is home to one of the world's oldest commissioned warships, which gained fame at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. Visitors can explore the ship's downstairs quarters and cannons, and gain an insight into life on a ship of this scale and importance.

Visited on a late February Sunday and there were no crowds. It's a beautifully preserved and presented piece of iconic British history. Entrance included the adjacent Victory museum making it even better value. The members of staff are very helpful and knowledgeable.

Simon Birkby — Google review

No visit to the Dockyard is complete without boarding the Victory. Really well presented, with an audio guide plus human guides strategically placed. The Victory museum and gallery opposite adds to the experience. Views of the ship will be obscured for some time from June 2022, as they had just begun to construct scaffolding around it for essential external works.

Peter Reaney — Google review

I was not particularly excited to go to this, was a treat for my husband's birthday. However, when we got there, I realised how much interesting history and how well done the exhibits were. We also saw the Alliance submarine and HMS Warrior. We really want to go back (got tickets that are good for 1 year) and do another weekend to see the rest of it. Incredible and totally worth it! If you're on the fence, definitely go - really enjoyable, especially if you like history.

Quartny Depala — Google review

Really fascinating, enjoyed walking inside the ship itself and the guides on board were really lovely and shared great info about the ship and Nelson. Also really interesting to see and hear about the renovation project its undergoing.

Elizabeth Allen — Google review

Brilliant. Even though the ship was under restoration and covered, there was still plenty to see inside and underneath. When you get through the ticket desk next to the ship, make sure you borrow the portable information speakers. These were excellent and not only provided lots of interesting information about the ship and its history but also gave narration of a piece of history, emotion & ambience to the tour. I found myself eagerly seeking out the next 'click' point to get the next piece of the story. My whole family (mother, wife, son (12) & daughter (15) absolutely loved it.We will be back soon to use our Explorer ticket & see more of the dock yard sites. I didn't take any pictures during the tour as I was too busy enjoying it!!

Marc Farmer — Google review

A great day out for all ages! We spent nearly 2 hours going around this historic ship. The audio guides gives you fantastic details and are available in different languages.

A. Taylor — Google review

We loved our visit to HMS Victory, flagship of the British Navy. Built in 1765, the ship is displayed as it was in 1805 when it was Admiral Nelson's ship at the Battle of Trafalgar. The cost of the visit includes a free audio guide that takes you through the battle from the initial engagement to the death of Nelson explaining the daily life of the ship's crew. The ship is currently undergoing repair but it does not detract from the visit. The stairs between the decks are steep and may not be accessible for some and the lighting is quite dim with low beams that need to be avoided. We look forward to visiting it again as there is so much to see and learn about.

Judy Holyer — Google review

Victory is part of the Historic Dockyard. You can purchase various tickets for the attractions (see website) We did not go on board this visit and the Ship is still open to the public whilst undergoing restoration to the outer cladding. In fact we found the pop up tour of the restoration work "Victory Live" more interesting than previous visits as the visitor is able to get up close to the construction of the ship which is not quite how we had imagined. We would say don't be put off by the cladding and the iconic rear of the ship is still visible as at May 2023

360Tour Guide — Google review

The exhibition will be under maintenance for quite some time. Simon our tour guide was exceptional. He was extremely knowledgeable and always open to questions. It was good going during off peak, it felt like a more personalised experience.

Brodie Fletcher — Google review

Currently under conservation with only 8 years to go out of 20. While she's not at her full glory the HMS Victory is a truly amazing ship. Experiencing the claustrophobic gun decks and walking through the captain's private quarters was a highlight. We can't wait to see her fully decked out in years to come. A must see!!

Michael Joyce — Google review

Simply amazing. Currently surrounded by scaffolding, so the outside isn't really visible, but, wow, the inside is fabulous. I would recommend the portable gadget for hearing the stories, listening to the historical information, you can pick and choose what you listen too. The tour takes in several floors, easy to get around, some of the steps are a little steep, but there's hand rails, and we found no-one was in a rush. So much to see, everywhere is absolutely immaculate, and guides on each floor are well informed and friendly. Worth every penny of the admission charge ... and Nelson did, apparently, say "kiss me Hardy" !!!

Polly Wainwright — Google review

As part of our return visit on our Ultimate Explorer ticket we spent our time exploring HMS Victory. Well worth discovering this piece of British maritime history. Audio guide is very helpful and doesn't distract from everything to see. Had the option also of seeing some of the restoration close up as part of the Restoration Live exhibit.

Adam Leadbetter — Google review

It's fascinating to see this incredible piece of history, and it's beautifully presented with an optional audio guide that I recommend for taking you on an immersive tour of the Battle of Trafalgar and what life on board would have been like. The Victory is currently undergoing a major renovation project that takes away a lot of the external views, but the inside of the ship is still open.

Darren G — Google review

Wow! The audio commentary really brought this historic ship to life, telling the impressive story of the battle of Trafalgar and Nelson's demise. It's extremely well preserved and well presented, but is currently undergoing some restoration work. As a historic ship, it's not suitable for anyone who has difficulty with steps. It is also important to realise that in some places, headroom is very low. Expect to bang your head! But it's absolutely worth it.

Victoria Wood — Google review

One of a kind experience and ship. Unique to see the keel and rudder from the drydock floor. A decades long restoration project underway. Original furniture in some areas. Helpful staff to teach you about the history..

SSNorway97 — Google review

Great attraction. Worth a visit. At the moment it's having a lot of work done on the exterior. It does have an affect on the experience but the work is completely necessary. They have a audio "experience" that pretty much talks about the journey that lord Nelson had sailing to meet the Spanish armada from start to finish. I will say look around the amount of people who was paying no attention to there surroundings because the where wrapped up in the story.

The Portsmouth Historic Dockyard contains a number of museums which recount naval history in both the past and present. Highlights include the evocative hulk of Henry VIII's flagship, the Mary Rose, as well as HMS Victory and HMS Warrior, both of which were used at the Battle of Trafalgar.

Great historic place to visit for all ages. There's plenty to see in a day. We went over two days as your ticket lasts a year and we feel that there's so much that we missed. It's definitely worth getting the ultimate ticket as it's great value for money. If you're a blue light card holder you get 30% off the price. We'll be back again soon to see the rest and revisit the Mary Rose exhibition.

Andy Hill — Google review

Absolutely loved it.We gained admission on a free entry ticket and quickly found that there is still plenty to see for free here, boathouse 7 and boathouse 4 in particular were fascinating. After three hours we were forced to retire due to aged legs but could easily have spent more time nosing around. We would love to come back another time and gladly pay to get into the premium exhibitions.Fabulous experience 👍👍👍👍👍

Paul Summerfield — Google review

Only went to see the Mary Rose museum which was excellently presented and accessible for wheelchairs. The Victory is currently under renovation so is not really in her full glory, wrapped up in coverings as at time of writing (July 2023). The dockyards themselves are worth visiting though with various attractions and cafes on site. Parking in the Wickham Street multi story was not expensive, and is well within walking distance of the entrance.

Clive — Google review

An amazing place to visit, did little research before visiting and was initially surprised by the cost but I was pleasantly surprised at the value you get. Thos place is incredible for all. I'd bite the bullet and purchase the unlimited ticket as you will need to come back a few times to see it all and fortunately it's an annual pass. I 100% would recommend a visit or 3

Roy G — Google review

Really interesting day out. Lots to see and do for all ages. For an extra £1 you can convert your day ticket into an annual one. One day is nowhere near enough time to take everything in. We live 50 miles away but have returned for the weekend to do more things, visit more ships and drink more coffee! The 75 minute tour of the Victory was really informative. Everyone there is polite and helpful. Highly recommended.

David Fraser — Google review

One adult and four kids. Pouring with rain. The Mary Rose exhibition is brilliant leisurely and informative. Stunning history. With a fun Calligraphy set for the kids. This means I sit down bonus. The Action Station for the kids was good only lacking a small coffee station which I am sure would have a roaring trade. The kids have stuff to do here. Again the parent rest stop...sitting down. Most of it free except Laser Quest. The large restaurant area had space for plenty of people and us on the ground floor which helps with kids. Also an inside picnic area for your own drinks and good Coffee too. Considering the heavy rain lots of chairs and space. Food looked good but on a budget.A great day out and we didn't finish it all. We will be back.

Nicholas Sharratt — Google review

AMAZING! so much to explore. So much to see! Def worth the money. You can choose between different types of tickets. The staff is super nice, helpful and know every little detail. It's really fun to learn all the information. Great for kids! Many different restaurants. Clean toilets. Parking available at the carpark nearby.

Lisa Rasehorn — Google review

Well worth the visit as the tours of the Warrior, M33 and Victory are well done with costumed characters on the Warrior to talk to and guide you who are well versed in the history of the ship. Be aware that the Victory is currently undergoing a big restoration project and is shrouded in scaffolding but you can still go inside for a self guided audio tour. You need to allow 2 days to see everything so as not to rush anything. We spent a good part of the day in the Mary Rose, it was fantastic and very well laid out. We would visit again.

Mark Nelson — Google review

Great place full of history and ambience, and well presented for family interaction. Plenty of space so didn't feel crowded even on a busy weekend day. Lots to see, highly recommend the ticket that allows 12 months access so you don't feel rushed and like you have missed something! Lots undercover so good for rainy days as well.

Christopher Collins — Google review

Fantastic day out. You really need to get there when it opens. We still haven't done everything and need to go back for another visit which is included with your ticket purchase for next 12 months. So fascinating.

Kay Archey — Google review

Had our first visit today, family of four (with a tween and a teen). We all loved it! (No arguments all day either as both children were engaged and entertained all day.)There's so much to see it's definitely worth the extra ticket visits. Lots on for all ages, and we particularly enjoyed the interactive actors around the site, telling their stories, the Mary Rose Museum was incredible and the Harbour Tour was really informative and interesting. No dogs allowed on site which is a shame, but I can understand why they wouldn't be allowed in the Museums of course. Food is a little pricey too, but nice. We parked at the main car park and walked the 5 minutes to the site, was about £7.50 for 5 hours

Natalie Elliott — Google review

What a great place to visit. You need the whole day as lots to explore. Be prepared it's very expensive, but worthwhile as there is so much to see and learn about. Definitely will be back. I missed the boat trip to the submarine museum. I'm definitely coming back. I hear the harbour tour is very good.

Sharon Marie Corrigan — Google review

We have Ultimate Explorer tickets and are gradually covering all on offer over several visits. The Mary Rose exhibition is so much better than 20 years ago, an enormous amount to see and learn. It's incredibly well presented. We visited the Victory recently and for the first time in 50 years of visiting the Victory, I was able to walk underneath it.Something even those that lived on it at the time of Trafalgar couldn't have dreamt of doing. What a perspective. You've got to experience it

Paul Goodwin — Google review

Portsmouth historic dockyard is a must visit for anyone who enjoys naval history. Being able to explore war ships from different periods of history is wonderful. You could easily spend a whole day here taking in all the information from the exhibits and the staff were great with our little boy encouraging him to try some of the more hands-on experiences. This was my first time seeing the Mary Rose and the way she's displayed is great, you get to see it from multiple floors and angles so you can really appreciate her lines and the size of her. Plenty of recovered artifacts too which are amazing to see. It's a shame Victory is currently undergoing restoration work (but obviously I appreciate they're doing the work!) as you can't see her in all her glory but the work is much needed so I look forward to returning and seeing her when the work is completed. It does give you a chance to see her structure though.Food was a bit pricey but that's the same anywhere you go these days. Overall I'm looking forward to going back someday!

Beckmech — Google review

Tickets good value for money be used you can go back to the same attractions multiple times in the year. Really enjoyed the victory ship mainly because the audio guides. Made the ships experience much more enjoyable and informative. The warrior ship was much bigger and good to walk round, although lacked information about what things were or background of the ship. There was a few 'actors' hanging around the ship that were good fun. Also did the Marie Rose museum briefly but ran out of time so will have to return to finish this.

Alexandra Parr — Google review

Very good experience at the dockyard. There's lots to see and even more to learn, there are plenty of toilets which are very clean and plenty of places to eat and the food is great as is the coffee. There are also tour guides everywhere and also guide books you can purchase. I have mobility issues and use a Mobility scooter and there's not much I can't access they have pretty much thought of everything. I would definitely recommend this place, it's well worth a visit there is so much to do and see. It's cheaper to buy a yearly ticket for three attractions, that's what I did, and your carer goes for free. I will definitely be returning. Top marks from me

Phil Mac — Google review

Amazing place, visited many times and never had a bad experience. People who work there are super friendly and very knowledgeable. So much to do! You need a good few days to get round everything so the return ticket is a great idea and much needed.

Emma Wake — Google review

a must visit when in Portsmouth! so much naval history! some incredible ships from the past and you can learn so much about the navy! i bought the ultimate explorer ticket and visited 3 days in a row and spent at least over 2 hours exploring! the staff are excellent, friendly, very knowledgeable, and very helpful when it comes to disability access! they also have costumed actors around some of the ships/exhibit which is a really nice touch! can’t wait to go back!

twist — Google review

Amazing place, I recommend the ultimate explorer ticket as it’s valid for a year and you can come back again and again as it’s very difficult to fit everything in with one visit. The HMS Victory tour was incredible and even though it was busy it never felt like it. The Mary Rose tour was exceptional and look out for entertainers if you have kids they’re worth the visit. On arrival be prepared to wait in line for the bag check but it seems to move pretty quickly and ensure you have photo ID for the purchase of tickets.

O’Malley’s Walkabout — Google review

Had a really fantastic day here with my partner, seeing several of the attractions. Due to the way the ticketing is priced, you can pay separately to visit individual attractions, or get a ticket for all the attractions that are part of the Dockyard that's good for a year, and it felt pretty easily cost effective to do that. So not only did we have a wonderful day learning a lot, we've got one or two more day trips here to look forward to in the future. There's so much to see, presented in very high quality, and helpful and friendly staff all through.

Darren G — Google review

Great visit. I chose to visit the Royal Navy Museum and HMS Warrior. The RN museum has a lot about admiral Nelson and lots about the RNs sailing ships. Plus some interesting stuff on the modern navy. There are guides soon dressed in uniform or period costume throughout the museum and they were friendly and helpful.HMS Warrior built in 1861 was huge. You are able to go from the main deck all the way down to the engine room and furnaces. Again there are various guides in period dress/uniform who were friendly and helpful. All very interesting. Allow 2hrs for the museum - longer if you stop and watch all the videos and interactive stuff. And about 1 to 2 hrs for HMS Warrior. You will not be able to get round everything in one day. Your best bet for tickets is to get the ultimate explorer pass online as you don't have to pay anything extra for the main attractions and the pass is valid for as many visits as you want for 12 months (at the same price as a 3 attraction ticket and there's way more than 3 attractions)

Mathew Thornhill — Google review

A fascinating place needing more than one day so the annual pass is worth it. Staff excellent and some 'in character'. HMS Victory is undergoing repairs so a little [but fully understandable] disappointing, though the guide was brilliant. The submarine museum very interesting and accessible via a boat ride. HMS Warrior a real gem and beautiful with Xmas lights. My only concern was the ticket price. I work with many very disadvantaged children and to be on Free School Meals the income is very low and would exclude any family visit. For such a central part of the UK's history, there will be thousands excluded from this cultural capital experience. Does the Dockyard operate on a similar basis to many of the French museums that are free on one day of the month...if not, are the next generation to be held in ignorance?

Shaun Kirby — Google review

Just a breathtaking and inspirational place for young and old. You can't fail to be impressed by our Naval History. The staff are amazingly friendly and knowledgeable and the Victory and Mary Rose need some time to appreciate, and to the work that the curators are doing.Make sure you take the harbour tour of the warships too (it drops you off at Gunwharf after). If you time it for when HMS Queen Elizabeth and/or Prince of Wales are in Port, then you're in for an even bigger treat too. Jist awe inspiring.

The Watercress Line is a 19th-century vintage railway that operates using steam trains and passes through historic stations. It hosts themed events and attractions, including the popular Steam Illuminations, which showcases the train's stunning illuminated interiors and exteriors. Visitors are advised to arrive early due to limited parking space. Refreshments are available at both Alresford and Alton stations. Seats must be booked in advance, ensuring guaranteed seating for passengers of all ages who enjoy this unique experience.

Have wanted to come to the Watercress Line for ages and glad I did. It's been lovely seeing all the old trains puffing away, the Line is clean and beautiful, staff are polite and the stations are lovely.Being able to get on and off at each of the stations is also a nice touch. The carriages are lovely with great views through the countryside. On a side note, we stayed at watercress ledge camp site and it was nice listening to the trains being made ready in the morning.

We came for fun on the line 1939, brought my parents as its there era and there was nothing happening apart from 1 dressed up person on each station. If this is more for children then please state this on your website. A bit of music on the train and more fun is definitely needed. The light up train event back in December was brilliant but I am left disappointed today. 😞

Absolutely fantastic experience for the family. Lovely steam train and there are different themes throughout the year. You can park in the station car park and use their toilets, then walk over the bridge to get through. Give yourself enough time as there can be queues.Bring your own food/drink as there's limited things available on board.

Fantastic day out for my Father in law's 88th birthday. All staff very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Nothing too much trouble. One of our party uses a mobility scooter, was able to access most areas. Railway staff assisted us with a ramp to help us take our member on and off the train.

The Christmas magical illumination train was amazing. I was worried it wouldn't be worth the money but people were fantastic. The train and the ride was amazing. Myself and my little boy absolutely loved it! Don't get off the train in Alresford unless you want your boy to spend all your money in the gift shop! Again the two ladies that served us were friendly and lovely. We really enjoyed ourselves. Cant wait to come back for Thomas in the summer

Our family always enjoy a trip on the Watercress Line! We have done the special Thomas event and been on the regular train several times, as well as the vintage bus and mini-railway. The stations and trains are so well-kept and the volunteers are exceptionally friendly and helpful and seem passionate about what they do. It's an amazing day out for kids and our little ones are always thrilled when we visit. We will be back again soon, I'm sure!

Our family of 8 booked tickets for the festive illuminations trip on 23rd December and absolutely loved it! So much so that it may just have to become a yearly tradition. We parked at Alton train station where we departed from and found there to be ample parking - but we did arrive about 30mins before our departure time to ensure we got a space.Whilst the train is impressive and the Christmas songs with narration we fantastic, what really made it special for us were the staff and volunteers working there. Everyone was so happy, helpful and informative that they made the trip really special for us. We also got some lovely shots of our family together as the staff/volunteers were always offering to take pictures for us which we greatly appreciated. You can take your own refreshments on board to enjoy (food and drink including alcohol) but you could also buy refreshments from the buffet cart on the train or at Alresford station where you will stop for around 30mins. You can also pre-order drinks online with your tickets and get them delivered straight to your table which is a good idea. There was such a happy atmosphere on the train with people singing and dancing along to the festive tunes. There’s even choreography with the wristbands flashing to the music and a Christmas quiz! Lots and lots of fun for everyone. You certainly don’t need to be a steam train enthusiast to enjoy the illuminations but if you are, then you’re in for a double treat. The trip lasts around 1hr 45mins along with your 30min stop at Alresford and really is a great day out for all of the family. We would have no hesitation in recommending and we will be looking into the other trips available on the Watercress Line (gourmet dining trips / Real Ale Train).Thank you again to all of the team for making it a special occasion for all of our family.

Clare Langrish-Dixon (CLD) — Google review

We went on the steam illumination’s for a family outing, well worth it. Parking is a bit tight so try to get there about 10 mins before it departs. The train is stunning when you see it all lit up both inside and out. My pictures don’t do it justice. You can get coffee etc at both Alresford and Alton. Booked seats only, which is good as you are guaranteed seats. The kids love it (big and small),there are lights along the track side also, a new experience for most of us and surprisingly very enjoyable.

paul mathias — Google review

Nice day out with our grandson, weather was a bit miserable, and had to catch the train from the Alton end, as they had the Watercress Festival on in Alresford, the train also didn't travel all the way to Alresford which was a shame, as I think it would have made the train busier, but also allowed people who booked from Alton end enjoy the festival as well. Staff at all the stations were friendly and knowledgeable. You can book tickets in advance which I highly recommend as it will save you money. Also check their website for events as this can impact. Looking to take our grandson back on Queens Jubilee weekend as they will have all things Thomas the tank engine going on.

Shanklin Chine is a lush ravine, carved by a river, that runs from Shanklin Old Village down to the beach and seafront. The gardens created to surround the pathway down the gully are wonderful at night when lit up with creative lighting.

Great place to visit. It's like walking into an enchanted wood. Being able to go go in as many times as you like over seven days and buying only one ticket was great. Went twice in the evening to see the illuminations. Great atmosphere especially the Halloween effects and models.

Les Miller — Google review

Really beautiful place but very expensive. £8.95 for a 20min walk through a tropical garden is steep. I think £4.50 max is the correct price. Put that aside, it’s beautiful & peaceful & magical- especially at night. It’s a twisty, up & down walk with waterfalls & vegetation. It’s beautiful there.

L A — Google review

Beautiful place to visit, but it didn't take that long to walk around. The dinosaurs are a nice touch for the little ones. It's worth seeing in the sunshine as the plants, waterfall and beach view is amazing. It's also worth waiting for the lights and lanterns to come on at dusk. Although you can visit again for free within 7 days, so you dont need to hang around. We visited the cafe for a slice of cake which was very nice.

Lorraine P — Google review

It was a good historic place to visit where we could learn more about some things of the past using the information boards. The waterfall side of things was pretty disappointing overall since there was only actually one medium sized waterfall. Even though you get free re-entry for 7 days, the initial purchase was too much.

Rishi Patel — Google review

The family at AtlasAdventured recommends visiting here!Such a beautiful place! We were lucky enough to be here during their Halloween festivities. We showed up around 6:00 pm and the place was busy! We paid the entrance fee of 20 pounds, our 4 year old was free, and you can come back within the week for free. A little pricey, but worth it especially if you're able to come back. The place was filled with lights and spooky decorations. During the Halloween event they had the Sanderson Sisters roaming around and our daughter absolutely loved that! The entire trail is lit up (which I believe is all year round) and the waterfall and gorge are beautiful to see. There is a cute cafe which was so busy we weren’t able to find the time to eat there. Definitely next time! If you are looking for a peaceful place to stroll around, take in the breathtaking views, and have a cup of tea, this is the spot. A wonderful gem on the Isle of Wight!

Atlas Adventured — Google review

Beautiful and peaceful great value for money as the ticket allows you to visit as many times as you like in a week. I was amazed at how pretty it was during the day but if you get a chance to visit as the sun is setting they have and amazing set up of lights that highlight bits you would of missed during the day light. Very well done on the lights it brings a tranquil happy feeling to what is already a beauitful place. Staff were lovely and it is dog friendly. It also give you access to shanklin beach great for dogs my one loved it. Also a nice little pub fisherman's cottage.

This place is extremely beautiful. A calming and relaxing sanctuary for the soul. The cost of the ticket it also extremely expensive for what it is: just a walk in the nature along a chime. Managers should take note of this common complaint and make the price more reasonable according to the offering.

Max Yakin Bozek — Google review

It is like a mini tropical forest inside. Maintained great and can spend about an hour here. You can use the tickets to revisit for 7 days, so you can do multi visits just to enjoy the beautiful environment. Recommended for kids and adults alike.

Deepak Srinivasan — Google review

Very pleasant location. It has two waterfall views, but it looks like you can't go near them, so only can be seen from the bridge. Apart from it, the forest like atmosphere is amazing with historic information like oil pipes, historic hot bath area. Overall, okay, but worth the high entry fee even they offer a week return (which mostly it never happen - 1. You need to be there in the location 2. It's not worth coming back here)

Imran Dawood — Google review

A nice peaceful place to go to view nature at its finest. The trail takes about 30 minutes to complete with little alternative routes towards the bottom offering great views throughout. I would recommend going in the evening around 8:30pm so you can see it all lit up, and you can visit as many times as you like if you gift aid too.

Mark McCarthy — Google review

Beautiful to see at night when they light everything up. Waterfalls are gorgeous. Tickets can be used again for up to 5 or 7days, (I can't remember) from day of purchase so you can as many times as you like. There's a room showing the history of the chine and a shop for gifts and cafe. Can't wait to visit again next year

Stella Baker — Google review

This place really is super special and really comes into its own at night with its brilliant illuminations. Tickets get free returns for 7 days from date of purchase, so we visited one afternoon and then came back in the evening later in the week. We are visiting during October half term, and our kids were delighted to find a brilliant Halloween event with lots of spooky fun. Another total bonus for us is that the site is dog friendly. Totally worth a visit and we look forward to going again next time we're on the island.

Vicky Greenwood — Google review

Such a beautiful place to visit especially at night when everything is lit up. Ticket price includes the ability to visit again within 7 days.

Laura Jeffery — Google review

A beautiful walk down the steps to Shanklin beach. Complete with night illuminations and it's own waterfall this place looks magical! It's tall trees and vegetation that covers the rocks looks great as it looms over the windy, twisting walk as you make your way down. There are places to stop if you need a rest and a viewpoint out into the coast with lots of information about PLUTO the pipeline used in WW2. Great views and very tranquil.

Karl Venus — Google review

Great place to visit if you're in the Isle of Wight. A lovely place to visit in the evening, when the lights turn on at around 8pm, with it closing at 10pm. The main feature (the waterfall) wasn't particularly full throttle - although they obviously cannot control that! Lovely paths and greenery and not too many people to make the place lose its character. No parking on sight, but it's very close to parking on the seafront. Not wheelchair friendly at all because there are lots of steps, it's not very flat and getting there from Shanklin Seafront requires you to go up a slope. More pricing options should be available, such as a day pass, or a one-time pass, and not just a default 7 day pass.

Luca — Google review

Beautiful place, one of my absolute favourite places on the island. If you buy a ticket you can have unlimited returns for a week. We usually use it to walk up to the old village or down to the beach front depending where you are. They have several dinosaurs and eggs dotted through new this year, with plans to add more as well as lots of other information including about the war throughout. There's a lovely tea room and even singers certain evenings. We visited through the week as well as on the weekend. Very pretty at night with all the lights on.

Nadine Harford — Google review

Shanklin Chine is a gorge at the southwest end of Shanklin. The entrance is almost hidden away, but it’s well enough signposted. The gorge is a well managed area of woodland with some nice architectural features to it.Our first visit was during the day, the ticket enabled us to come back and so we returned after nightfall, so that we could see the illustrations. The chine had just been decorated for Halloween. There are remnants of the WW2 PLUTO pipeline to be seen and there are several dinosaur models that reflect the island’s prehistoric past.

Peter Meade — Google review

A amazing walking path through a beautiful gorge ending at a waterfall. We were lucky to visit at sundown in October and our grandkids really enjoyed the wonderful Halloween decor and live costumed characters interacting with them. We bought tickets at the entrance, good for a week, not crowded at all. Short walk from there to a popular seafood restaurant.

The Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary is a place where people can meet donkeys and ponies that have been rescued from being ridden or kept as livestock. The sanctuary also has a tearoom and gift shop.

What a beautiful place. Just such a lovely happy place, would make any person feel happy and fluffy inside. These donkeys are being looked after with the most love and care.Could have spent days there.. I wish I lived on the island so I could go all the time! The staff were lovely and friendly and helpful, and we wish the donation on entry was mandetory as we were the only ones entering at that time to donate which we were shocked at!So lovely, will hopefully be back!

Sophie Bowman — Google review

Nice free morning out, or you can make donations.Get up and close with the donkeys.Nice picnic areas, and walks, if you wish to venture out with your own food. Although there is a cafe and shop, with reasonable prices. Keep in mind that the money you spend goes back into the upkeep of the sanctuary, and feeding of the donkeys.

David Grist — Google review

Lovely place to visit. So many gorgeous animals and looked so cared for. Free as well but happy to donate when there. Staff are happy to talk to you and dog friendly too. A visit is a must I'd say!

Tracey Dawson — Google review

This is such a wonderful place to visit with the whole family, including your furry friends. The donkeys are obviously well looked after and happy, and the information available on each of their rescue stories is wonderful. The staff and volunteers are all very knowledgeable and personable and are happy to provide little anecdotes on the donkeys, making them feel more like friends! Be advised that there is a lot of walking as the site is very open, but the beautiful new walkways are excellent for wheelchairs and strollers. The Cafe provides a delicious menu of snacks and sandwiches but there can be a long wait for food during busy times - but trust me, the food is worth waiting for!

Emilie Stroud — Google review

First of all this place is run by true legends and they do so much to care for these lovely animals. It’s such a wonderful place to visit and it’s been amazing the last few years see it go strength to strength. If you’re an animal lover it’s a must visit. The cafe here is absolutely fantastic too with amazing food at reasonable prices.

Simon Bangs — Google review

This is a truly delightful place thanks to very hard work of all staff and volunteers. The donkeys and ponies are well looked after, with some becoming pantomime stars! My favourite is Polar Bear in the pink jacket! You must find yours!Free entry, so I believe the place really deserves donations for all the hard work of so many people.

Crystal Leader — Google review

One of our favourite places to visit. Free parking and free entry, although the sanctuary are very grateful for donations. There is a nice cafe, lovely walks and lot and lots of donkeys! Dogs are welcome.

Gemma Prangnell — Google review

Lovely clean and friendly donkey sanctuary on the Island. Similar to the other sanctuaries on the mainland but a large number of animals. It was a hot day so there wasn't much scratching of backs to be had but there was a talk available.Cafe is lovely and i had amazing vegan cake and had soya milk too. Even inside the cafe is dog friendly which is nice.Spent a nice few hours wandering around the animals and trying to spot them all on the 'spot the donkey' sheet.Don't forget to gift aid your donation for visiting, the donkeys deserve it.

Gemma B — Google review

A wonderfully run sanctuary where you could tell that the care of the animals was at the level of passion. The staff are wonderful and the animals heart warming to see thriving. So worth a visit

Rob Josling — Google review

Really lovely sanctutuary with lots of lovely donkeys. It's free to get it in but good to donate to keep this place going. It has a cafe and gift shop. They have an outdoor seating bit with tractors which my daughter loved she also loved the little picnic benches for young children. My daughter loved this place so much she didn't want to leave. Would definitely reccomend a visit.

Absolutely amazing donkey sanctuaryCouldn't believe how big it was.Donkey's really well cared for and lots of room for them to grazeSome very sad story's of how the donkey's came to the sanctuary but well cared for and happy.Great cafe and shop too.Free admission but worth a nice donation or adoptionWe always find something new on the iow each year we come and will return to visit our adopted donkey 🐴

Ah the donky sanctuary. What a place, if you like donkeys. Luckily I do. Some are sociable. They do a good coffee too. I brought the obligatory soft toy donkey but the shop has a lot of donkey related merchandise. Free entry! Parking limited on our visit but I'm sure they could open up extra if there's not been too much rain!

Jim Goodsell — Google review

This was such a lovely visit. All the staff members are so lovely and helpful and really welcoming. The donkeys are great and I love all the little touches like displaying the names of the donkeys on their halters and paddocks and the funny and informational posters and plaques around. The place is doggie friendly and highly educational and I whole heartedly recommend a visit!

Cat Fu — Google review

Absolutely brilliant. The donkeys were looked after extremely well. We had an amazing time and it was really lovely that you have the stories of donkeys and that you can donate or adopt the one you want. There were around 120 donkeys and a few ponies too. Gift shop was very good and bought a few bits too.

Jessica Tarrant — Google review

Staff very friendlyThe entire site was very clean, lovely conditions to see donkeys live their lives. All donkeys were so quiet, calm and great with my golden retriever! Some came over and said hi were fine petting.Cafe was great too.

Harmzilla — Google review

If you want to see donkeys in fantastic well-kept and safe surroundings with lots of different fun, interesting and slightly sad stories about how these lovely animals ended up at the sanctuary, then this is the place for you. It’s completely free to enter and relies upon your donations. The restaurant and ice cream area is fantastic and quite reasonably priced. And there’s plenty of opportunity to just sit and relax in the wonderful countryside that’s around the donkey sanctuary. For a reasonable monthly charge, we ended up sponsoring and adopting another donkey named after our son Barney, which was great fun.

Neil Ward — Google review

Lovely, large facility for retired and rescued donkeys. Joseph stole our heart so we adopted him. A sweet boy. We went back a few days later to see him again before we came home. He came over to the fence for an ear rub which made my day. Entry is free, but please consider giving what you can to support the donkeys, which can be gift-aided. Site has free parking, toilets, a gift shop and a beautiful cafe in a restored barn, with outdoor terrace overlooking a pen with some rams.

The family at AtlasAdventured highly recommends visiting here!If you ever find yourself on the Isle of Wight, you definitely have to stop at the Donkey Sanctuary. So many donkeys! And Shetland ponies! We stopped by in October 2023, hoping to attend their halloween event, but due to the rain it was canceled. They still gave the kids a trail hunt to go on and bring back for a special treat! It is free to get in, but it is always a good idea to donate. Let’s keep this sanctuary going! All of the animals are very happy and friendly. Most of the donkeys will come right up to the fence to say hello! You can tell that they are well taken care of. They all have signs attached to their fences which tell you their names and a little bit about themselves. We had a good time finding names that matched some of our family members! The staff was super friendly, the cafe has good healthy food options, plenty of seating, and the gift shop was full of cute stuff! It was very easy to get here. We took the bus and it dropped us off right out front. There is a big parking lot, bathrooms, and is wheelchair friendly. We cannot wait to come back on our next trip to the Isle of Wight.

Atlas Adventured — Google review

Free entry to an excellent place to spend a miser0able afternoon. It was raining and windy, so the donkeys were in their barns. If you like this sort of thing, which I do, you will find the most peaceful place. Plenty of animals with a lot of information about where they have all come from and how they are recovering. Plus excellent shop and cafe.

Jocelyn Hart — Google review

So many beautifully looked after donkeys. Friendly volunteers & friendly residents. It's all free so what's not to like & a great place to take your children. Happy to give a donation. Brilliant, even in very chilly January 😀

Ventnor Botanic Garden in Britain benefits from an unusually warm climate, allowing for the cultivation of sub-tropical plants in its naturalistic gardens. The Upper Nursery features a small accommodation called The Potting Shed, ideal for couples seeking a short break. From its floor-to-ceiling window, guests can enjoy uninterrupted views of the Upper Garden and the English Channel beyond. Access to the gardens is unlimited.

This is a real hidden gem on the Isle of Wight! The garden is divided into sections each based on a different continent. All the plants are labelled which makes it easier identifying them. The gardens are well maintained and have plenty of places to relax and enjoy. There's a lovely little cafe at the entrance

Hannah Wild — Google review

Reasonably priced for 2 adults and one child £28. This included the cost to park. However, paid online and no receipt via email received. Luckily we had screenshot the reference number or we'd have no way to prove it. Upon arrival it states admittance inside. No clear directions once inside, queued at the gift shop to be redirected to the cafe, queue again to then enter. No map was given. Although an interesting walk around, but no clear guidance on which way to go, so you not only worry you will miss parts, but I found it worse than IKEA trying find the exit. There is minimal information on the plants growing and I thought this was a real shame, as I know there is many rare tree and flowers growing. I would still recommend though, its interesting to visit and we enjoyed the walk around.

Samantha Mitchamson — Google review

A lovely garden full of exotic plants, kids under 6 go in for free. Adults pay just under £10 each, you can return free for up to 7 days. The paths were a bit narrow at some points and unstable for prams or wheelchairs. The bees and flowers were lovely to look at. There is a little play park at the end of the path. Thought you could go in the big green houses but they are not open to the public. We had to go back on ourselves to get out as we couldn't go down the stairs and the restaurant has a lift but only half way and the rest is stairs. By the end of it, we just wanted to get out so had to walk all the way back to the entrance to exit the gardens. Needs to be better sign posted for the exit.

We've just had a wonderful morning visiting Ventnor Botanic Gardens. Beautifully laid out and not overly manicured, the gardens are a medley of colour, scents and textures to delight the senses. Our dog never stopped being eager to explore every nook and cranny. There were plenty of cool shaded areas to escape the sun. A real joy. There's a lovely cafe and a very decent gift shop too. Very highly recommended.

A lovely place even in the depths of British Winter, Not far from the town of Ventnor, About a 20 mins walk, I know cos I walked into town from the gardens. The car park is not free, It cost me £3 (Jan 2024 prices) and to get in £10:50.The Gardens have so much variety in trees, shrubs, and flowers, With a guide map as well to take you all around the site, There is even a Tropical Garden, With a aray of very different species. Some of the slopes were steep but there is a flat path that allows wheelchair users to use. I had a cup of tea plus a scone and cream/butter at the on siteCafe/Restaurant which was fantastic. There is also a gift shop that allows to to buy plants and other items connected with the Gardens. All of the staff I met were so friendly.

David Kirby — Google review

I had high hopes for this place and unfortunately I was dissopointed. The garden itself is quite nice and a lovely little outing. Obviously this time of year nothing is in bloom and that's to be expected it was still nice. As the sun was out, it was delightful to meet the tortoise who was having a sun bathe in the pond. The dogs had a nice time, would have been useful to have bins around for rubbish and dog waste. The tropical greenhouse, actually ruined my trip. As a lover of tropical plants and a collector I was looking forward to the green house but everything was dead. Just vines of dead ivy, stagnant water and some very unhappy monstera's. The building was falling apart. I've never been to a greenhouse, even at this time of year to be so dissopointed. It's in need of some TLC.

Rebecca White — Google review

Never been to the botanical gardens before and I must admit, it wasn't high on my list of things to do whilst on the island. However, what a mistake that was! This is a quite stunning place with an amazing array of non British species of plants. A very well laid out set of gardens with all different areas of the world represented in a horticultural form. A coffee and snack from the cafe is a must and look out for the sand lizards! Quite surprised and delighted to find the lizards amongst the plants. Some lovely items in the shop as well. Overall a very well spent £10.50 for admission. Stayed for a good number of hours and thoroughly enjoyed!

Alan Hodges — Google review

Nice place to walk around - so many interesting plants to look at. Particularly liked the Japanese terrace. Parking is free for visitors. Friendly staff.

Lemony — Google review

The location is amazing. The history of how the place came to exist is very interesting. However the weeds were a bit overgrown in some parts and some bits looked not very well looked after. The Japanese garden and surroundings seem new and better looked after. The greenhouse seems to need a lot of attention, unfortunately the pond didn't seem to have been cleaned properly and same with the glass which blocks a lot of the light (lateral windows).Another thing to mention: many plants don't display a name or tag which makes it hard to identify the plant. Many lizards running around which is pretty cool!Overall the price is worth the visit, if more people visit I think the money could go to improve it :)

Karen Avilez — Google review

Love walking round the gardens, amazing plants and wildlife, always see the lizards in the arid gardens. Just such a lovely place to sit and chill and enjoy the scenery and the amazing plants. I’m not keen on the menu in the cafe, not much for children, there was no cake that I liked the look of today, but the coffee is good and that’s not really what I went there for.

The Marwell Zoo is a zoo that houses a large variety of animals from all over the world. It has several habitats, including an African savannah, an Australian rainforest, and a Toy Train track. The zoo has been recently upgraded with new enclosures and additions, making it one of the best zoos in the United Kingdom. The staff are always polite and helpful, and take great care of the animals.

I recommend arriving early around 10 or 11 AM, that way you can enjoy watching many of the animals be fed. Catching meal times ensures that the animals are active and you see the interactions with their handlers. There’s a decent amount of parking, and make sure you bring your walking shoes as there’s a fair distance between some of the exhibits. There are even some enclosures that you can walk into any animals roam around you. There’s lots of space for families to spread out and enjoy!

Amanda Lee — Google review

Fantastic family day out. I took my 11 year old and 2 year old. We booked online, under 3s are free. Easy to get around and there is a lovely little train. We went and it started to rain so the train ride came in handy it cost 2 pound per person no charge for my 2 year old.Plenty of toilets and places to eat. Gorgeous animals to see we were lucky enough to watch the red panda playing in the tree and say some gorgeous birds in the open aviary and there is some lovely garden areas and the manor is absolutely gorgeous.

Kathryn Mogan — Google review

Always a pleasure to go to Marwell although I feel there is too much wire fencing and some animals still don't have enough space.I am not sure how I feel about some of the larger animals being held in such small areas. I understand however that they are well cared for.

Liz Williams — Google review

Nice zoo lots space clean enclosures nice to see some of animals close up they seemed well looked after! Friendly staff an enjoyable day lots walking! Cafe graze needed more staff service very slow food went cold waiting in queue 2 pay nobody clearing tables etc! Some undercover picnic areas so take picnic!

First time visiting, came here after recommended by friends.Had a lovely day out, despite the rain, lots of animals to see including penguins 🐧, Monkeys 🐒, Red Pandas 🐼, snow leopard 🐆 and many more. There was no queues to get into the park and loads is parking available.Animals can be seen clearly, through glass and enclosures, so young children to adults can enjoy the experience. This is an Ideal day out for anyone, babies, children, on your own, couples, elderly, wheelchair users, as there is slopes to make the park more accessible. There is a lot of land and a fair bit of walking to do around the zoo, so bear that in mind, however, there are benches and seats all around.Had lunch in cafe Graze, it's quite small, but plenty of choices of food, from cookies, cakes and muffins, to chip, jacket potatoes or lasagne. There is probably only 10 tables inside the cafe, but there is a large outdoor dining area. All the staff are very friendly from the man who sold me my ticket at the entrance, to the lady who served me in the cafe and wished me a happy new year, to the gentleman who answered my questions in the tropical enclosure.Would definitely go again one day, but not for a while. If your looking to go often, you can upgrade your day ticket to an annual membership. The only thing, I felt let the zoo down, was the lack of toilets.

Em B — Google review

A little small zoo. Still a nice few hours with the kids. Get there on good time and walk around slowly.. when it's not to hot animals are always pm display and very visible to see. Unfortunately, this weekend it was so hot, think they all had enough. Always a good little place to go though. Nice gift shop. Toilets pretty clean. Nice picnic area but food is available.

Sharlene Thomas — Google review

Wonderful zoo. Spread over a lovely country estate. The owners have obviously given great thought to the enclosures and most are huge, bigger than many other zoos. I did some reviews that you don't get to see the animals. This is easily resolved here as most enclosures have more than one viewing point and we went back to some enclosures again on our way out and saw the ones who were asleep etc on our first try. Remember these are living creatures with a routine of their own not "performers" in our "play"

Rob Bowie — Google review

Fantastic day out for families. I had not been in 30 years and I have to say that some of the place looked a bit tired and some of the old enclosures have been left to rot but what they do have is a fantastic range of very healthy looking animals. The range of animals from Tigers to monkeys, birds and a big hit if a red panda, is just right and the ability to see the animals as you walk around is just right. It's a good few hours of walking with a land train that lets you see the whole thing of you want. There are lots of picnic spots, and play parks dotted around. Kids that normally moan after a few hours were well entertained.

Tom Lampard — Google review

Went recently with the 30 day return ticket, had a wonderful time, been again and hoping to go again before our tickets expire. Friendly staff, clean facilities and areas to eat your own food or buy from the eateries. I hadn't been there since I was a Child so nice to share this with my Son.

I have visited Marwell Zoo many times over the last 15+ years and have always enjoyed my time here. They have a large selection of animals and have upgraded enclosures and added new ones over the last few years. The Tropical House and the aviary are currently closed due to the avian flu so you won't be able to see the birds that fly here or the sloths. The restaurant serves lovely food with large portions, although on pricey as to be expected at these types of attractions. The staff are always polite and helpful and the zoo keepers take great care of the animals. Would highly recommend to anyone interested in wildlife.

Hannah Glenhill — Google review

Absolutely blown away with the place! Managed to get some beautiful photos of the animals there, abd we were pleased to see that they are so well cared for. You can really see that the keepers are trying their best to make each animals enclosure as close to their natural habitat as possible. Lots of open spaces and walking around which was nice, and lots of different variety of parks for the children. I would definitely recommend this as a place to visit if you are in the vicinity, or for a day out as we did from the Isle of Wight. Beautiful place and a great attraction. We liked that the price was so good also!

Alli Smith — Google review

Lovely day spent at Marwell Zoo, weekday and out of school holidays so other than a group of small school kids it was wonderfully quiet.Great facilities with friendly staff and volunteers throughout the park.Loads of animals to see all in spacious enclosures allowing them to roam as free as possible with excellent viewing opportunities.Ticket prices are very reasonable and there is plenty of free parking. We took a picnic but the food places and food on offer looked pretty good. We did grab a latte, which despite being machine made, was great. There were plenty of picnic areas/tables dotted around the park for those who had brought their own food. Gift shop by the entrance/exit was full of the usual gifts and masses of cuddly toys…the prices weren’t crazy which is a bonus! All in all a great day out, highly recommended…

Jo Jhanji — Google review

Always great fun for everyone. Will disagree with previous reviews that there was no animals. We managed to see most of them.We actually had a nice meal in the zoo canteen. To compare to another this to type of places ( mainly theme parks) food was very tasty and reasonably priced. Also, the ice cream by the playground was awesome.Clean toilets all around the park. Free parking.

Piotr “P10trek83” — Google review

Incredible, sunny day at the zoo. Started the journey and got on the M3. Clear signage to go to the place. Lots of parking spaces. Prices as shown in pictures, paid on the day (so not sure if its more affordable online). Great open spaces for the animals. Fairly clean throughout. Many kiosks, a restaurant and cafes. We enjoyed the day so much and took amazing photos. A place that I highly recommend for an entire day to have time to see as much.

Dr. Al — Google review

4 wonderful hours spent here today, for what I believe was a very reasonable amount of money. All the animals looks happy & content in there large enclosures, never saw any pacing back & forth. Zoo was clean & tidy without litter lying around, toilet's plentiful & clean. Nice areas for children to play in. Will return. Highly recommend.

Haydn Morris — Google review

Marwell is my local wildlife park, I have been regularly going for most of my life because I support their breeding programs. I have given a lower rating this time because I was disappointed at how much the level of animal species has dropped in the time since my last visit in 2018 :-( I really hope that this is just a Covid impact and that they get back to their original standard soon.

Points of Interest & Landmarks

The Model Village Godshill is an incredibly detailed and well-crafted tourist attraction consisting of a model village, railway, garden and bonsai. The attention to detail is astounding, and the models are so realistic that it's easy to spot real-life landmarks within the village. It's a great place for families or teambuilding activities, and visitors can explore everything from the model houses to the railway track.

Visiting as an adult but can't help being blown away by the quality of this model village. So many tiny details are taken in consideration to make these models resemble the actual village. I was very excited whenever I could recognise the real house that I saw in the model village. Everything about this place is awesome - from the model houses, to the model railway and even the bonsai in the garden. For the family and the team who have created and been maintaining this place - thank you so much for your work and dedication. Your craftsmanship is admirable.

Hana Nguy?n — Google review

Fantastic model village. The village is well kept and grass freshly cut. Great one way system takes you through some beautiful recreated Isle of Wight villages. Especially liked the model railway. Also look out for the model village within the model village model village. When you complete your circuit you have the option to go back around as many times as you want. Prices were £6.50 for adults not sure of child's rate but there was an oap reduction too. We thought it was a very well kept attraction and good value for money.

Steve Gladdis — Google review

Thoroughly enjoyed it. It's good to walk between the buildings in the model village. Children especially can take more of an interest as they can look inside, touch and get up close. Very well maintained overall. The gardens and trees are beautiful. Well done to the staff working there.

I was unsure as to whether I would enjoy looking around this attraction but found it to be an absolute joy to go around. It contains models of a wide variety of buildings, including the local church which can be seen from the model village. It also has a miniature railway running through part of itThe gardens are well maintained with some wonderful bonsai trees planted throughout.

We can here on the on a trip to Godshill and so glad we did. While it was quite busy when we visited in the summer, the model village is deceptively big and is a replica of the local Godshill village. One great model is the model village inside the model village with people looking at the model village with us looking at it all. With loads to look at and take in it's a great place to visit for an hour or so.The gardens are very well looked after and the models are of a very high standard which made this model village great. At the end is a small gift shop selling a few things.Overall a great day but busy and in these strange times it felt busy. But well worth the visit.

chris Evans — Google review

Lovely little model village of the surrounding area (even a model village of the model village, an endless loop!). A great treasure trail, too - great for all ages and really helps you look much more closely. A bit on the pricey end for what it's worth, but it's very well maintained! I love the little trees that fit perfectly into the model village - well done gardeners!

Luca — Google review

Lovely visit. They do keep good care of the place. And very reasonable prices compared to most England attractions. You can take a quest or you can just take a ticket for £7 for an adult and walk around to enjoy. Nearby parking available for free. It would take about 2 hours to walk around freely and have a cup of coffee. There was a miniature railway which was very nice

Aruni Umagiliya — Google review

I have been to the model village many times as a child, an adult and with my own children when they were young. We always like to return. Never disappoints. Lots to enjoy. Gardens all very well kept. We'll worth a visit, young or old.

Belinda Meatcher — Google review

Part of the RHS partner garden scheme as it is noted for its bonsai collection. There are trails for the kids to take part in as well as challenges such as spot the squirrels to keep them entertained for longer. When we visited there were people with mobility aids and wheelchairs who were able to access the majority of the attraction.

Andrew Jefferys (DBugsyJ) — Google review

Have been visiting this wonderful little place since I was a child and my children have visited all their lives too. They still enjoy the nostalgia of the place and trying to spot the squirrels and the lady streaker in one display, or listening to the sounds at the church and watching the trains go by. It never gets old. It's all done so beautifully. Always take a pencil or two as there is a little quiz you can do as you go around that little ones will have a lot of fun with. The model village is reasonably accessible both for wheelchair users and people on crutches. It's quiet so no issues if sounds etc are an issue for ND people. It's got a couple of little seating areas that are in the shade and quiet if you need them. There is a small ice cream hut and seating area. If you have a child who finds things overwhelming maybe ask to skip the gift shop as you exit as it can get a bit crowded.

Lisa Dunn — Google review

I had visited here previously many years ago when I was a child, and later with a friend and her child but my memory of it was being a small place but recently took my mother (who is disabled) and we were pleasantly surprised by how much there was to see. This place is good for all ages, wheelchair and pushchair accessible with bathrooms at the far end, however I did have an accident from going the wrong way round and hitting the wall on reversing the wheelchair and the wheel came off! My own fault, although the route is quite narrow there were no real issues getting around and it wasn't particularly uphill at all. The staff were so so lovely, with the ladies at the ticket gate calling the gardener to come with tools and helped us to get the wheel back on :)

Melissa Mattingley — Google review

What a little gem this is. First time I have been, loved it. The model village is very well laid out, and easy to navigate. All the models are brilliant and all the plants compliment them. It takes about an hour and a half to walk around, there is a quiz to do as you go. It only cost £7 and concessions £6.50. It is great for all age groups. Godshill as a village is worth a visit to. Recommend.

Kevin Rockall — Google review

What a fantastic attraction! A great way to spend a couple of hours wandering around the super detailed model village! Be sure to pick up the quiz sheet as you are drawn into the most amazing detail.of the installations. The staff are super friendly and the gift shop is well stocked. Well worth a visit!

Ian Gifford — Google review

It was an absolutely fantastic place to visit. A must day out. Set in an idyllic village. The detail is mind-blowing. One of my best places on the Isle of Wight. A village within a village within village.

Beautiful cathedral with a long medieval nave and a fascinating array of features from all eras. Highlights include the intricately carved choir stalls, Jane Austen's grave, and one of the UK's finest illuminated manuscripts. The excellent Tower and Roof Tours get busy, so book well in advance.

An amazing experience and an absolute pleasure to be able to see such a vast history. You really have to interact with this cathedral you can look at it from a great distance but until you have walked the long hallways and exhibition you have not experienced much. the staff were very friendly and I thoroughly felt welcome.I have included some Aerial photography that I took on this day. really gives you a whole new experience!

Lovely grounds and a huge cathedral. It's a £10 to enter to ensure maintenance is kept up Nice to see an early bible on display and it's well protected and showcased. Jane Austin tomb inside just after the entry on the left. Amazing how massive the cathedral is and how intricate the detailing is. Lots of tour guides on hand to answer any questions - They were super nice. If in Winchester suggest you visit.

Went last minute and arrived around 4.30pm. Closed 6pm in the week. Used local car park, inexpensive only had to pay to 6pm. Circa 40 to 50 stalls I'd guess, friendly lovely atmosphere. Plenty of food and drink options in the centre and lots of toilet options. Lovely pre Christmas experience. Thoroughly enjoyed, even non shopper me 🤣

Oh my goodness! Do yourself a favor and visit the Winchester cathedral! It cost £12.50 to visit but was so worth it! We had a wonderful tour guide (which is included in the cost of admission) and I highly recommend the tours! So informative and they can only scratch on the history of the cathedral. Very cool to see Jane Austen’s burial site. Definitely check out the crypt if it isn’t flooded (which it may be seasonally but we lucked out in January). Also worth visiting the complimentary Exhibit which houses the Winchester Bible and Bishop’s library. Very wonderful experience.

Jaime Killion — Google review

An impressive place to visit. Lots of interesting historical facts and beautiful interior. Entry £12,50 per adult, but it is worth the price. You can easily spend minimum 2 hours inside if you like history and facts.

Winchester Cathedral at the heart of Winchester City is a historical but also a very stunning building impossingly stunning the city visitors. The staffs and really amazing in here. They're very welcoming and there are plenty of very lovely volunteers providing guided tours. They also provide activities leaflets for children and their ticket last a whole year so you can go back there on the same ticket all year round. Cannot recommend it enough

Bimeny Ponsiano — Google review

My first impressions of Winchester cathedral are just how impressive and absolutely stunning it is. You don't need to know the history of the cathedral to appreciate the design and architecture of this cathedral.I went there 3 days in a row and every day I noticed different parts that I had previously missed. The entrance fee of £10 also acts as a 12 month pass to visit as many times as you like, outstanding value for money. There are also free tours of the cathedral at various times which is very informative. I will definitely be going back several more times over the next 12 months.

Eddie Rogers — Google review

We did the guided tower tour at an extra GBP3 and it was well worth it. So much information, a great view from the top and the chance to see behind the scenes. Lots of very narrow stairs though so not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. And take a small bag if at all.

Melanie — Google review

Wonderful, impressive cathedral! We wanted to have just a short glimps and finally stayed over 2 hours! The £ 12.50 entry fee where well worth it!

Roland Zeller — Google review

It's a great place to explore the great history of Winchester. It's really a big church with beautiful art and historic monuments. There is a small garden in front of it and you can spend quality time with your family and friends.

Ajay Bali — Google review

Didn't pay for entryWe felt £12.50 was quite a lot for entry and decided not to pay, but we did soon realise how big it was and could see potential justification for why entry was expensive. You can explore a garden and see lots of the architecture without going in. The gift shop is expensive and mostly about the area not just the Cathedral.

What a gorgeous historical place to have a graduation. So we'll organised in a wonderful venue & City.Lovely and Warm we were nice and comfortable during the 90 minutes ceremony.Perfect memories made today in a gorgeous historic building.

Thoroughly enjoyable experience today. Entry fee is good value for money, you can get guided tours too included. Amazing, huge building with lots of history. Friendly staff and guides. Thanks for a lovely visit. Your ticket is also valid for a year but I still thought it was great value for one visit!

Superb & impressive 1000+ year old Cathedral in the center of Winchester.Known to be one of the earliest stone built buildings in the whole of England & Europe. Also there is a museum inside over 3 floors. You can get a free guided tour which is included in the entrance fee. (The entrance fee allows unlimited visits in the year)See images for pricing and opening times.Definitely worth a look. 👀Cafe, shop and toilets.Parking available in the town at various places

Simon Stepsys — Google review

Fascinating history and stories around the building. Would thoroughly recommend the guided tour. We also enjoyed the Tower tour, but not for the faint hearted, have a heart or lung problem or you don't like narrow steps or heights. You need at least three full days to get the most out of a visit here. One ticket lasts a full year so your return is feasible. Another exhibit we enjoyed was The Kings and Scribes. Extremely interesting history.

Mary Roberts — Google review

I was incredibly impressed by Winchester cathedral and it is 100% worth the £10 entry.Upon entry we were told a free guided tour would start soon - you should definitely partake in this. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and witty. He took us around the whole cathedral and told us stories and facts about the cathedral, its history, the royals and of Winchester itself. Thank you for having these tours as it really sets the visit apart. The cathedral is stunning architecturally and you can see the different styles as you move throughout the cathedral. There was also an exhibit on which added even more value to the ticket. I would certainly visit again even though it's a 2 hour drive. This is by far the best thing to do in Winchester. The only reason it got 4 stars is because of the toilets - water and mud all over the floor and it smelt like the sanitary bins needed changing.

Vicci Skinner — Google review

Wow, what a cathedral. Anyone who is in the vicinity must see it. We were also lucky enough to see the choir rehearsing and we were accompanied by church songs through the huge building. If you are interested in history, you should bring time, as there is a lot to read and learn.

Marcus Schuler — Google review

Magnificent bit of architecture, a wonderful cathedral set in the historical town of Winchester. £12.50 for an adult, kids are free. A bit of a museum, art gallery, and tower tours. Gift shop and cafe are in a separate building across the courtyard.

Steven Moseley — Google review

Remarkable building, with fantastic exhibitions and guides, well worth the price of entry and definitely worth checking out.The building remains a functioning church, but in addition it acts as a museum and art gallery. Definitely worth getting the guided tour, and make sure you check out the actual museum section (off to the right hand side towards the back of the church).

Simon Hill — Google review

The cathedral has been on my bucket list for years. It was great. I did the tour, which made it so much more interesting. It's definitely a must.

Subject: A Tranquil Journey Through Time at Winchester CathedralI had the pleasure of visiting Winchester Cathedral in August, and the experience was nothing short of awe-inspiring. The cathedral, nestled in the heart of Winchester, captivates both history enthusiasts and casual visitors alike.Upon entering, the sheer grandeur of the cathedral is immediately apparent. The magnificent architecture, with its towering spires and intricate details, transports you to a bygone era. The breathtaking interior is a testament to centuries of craftsmanship and devotion. One of the highlights of my visit was exploring the beautiful chapels within the cathedral. Each one tells a unique story, adorned with stunning stained glass windows and ornate tombs that carry the weight of history. The tranquil ambiance inside creates a sense of reverence, inviting visitors to reflect and appreciate the cultural and religious significance of the site.Winchester Cathedral's famous nave is a marvel in itself. The soaring ceilings and the play of light filtering through the windows create a serene atmosphere, making it an ideal place for quiet contemplation. The architecture and the artistry on display truly make this cathedral a masterpiece. The guided tour provided valuable insights into the cathedral's rich history. Learning about the notable events that took place within its walls and the prominent figures buried on its grounds added depth to my appreciation of the site.Outside, the cathedral grounds are equally charming. The well-maintained gardens and the close proximity to the city center make it a peaceful retreat amidst the bustling town.In conclusion, my visit to Winchester Cathedral was a journey through time and a feast for the senses. It's a place where history, art, and spirituality converge seamlessly. I left with a profound appreciation for the dedication and skill of those who contributed to the creation and preservation of this cultural gem. Whether you're a history buff, an architecture enthusiast, or someone seeking a moment of tranquility, Winchester Cathedral is an absolute must-visit.

Amazing place to visit, so much to see and learn about. The Moon was just incredible and seemed so real. Also wonderful to see the Bible dating back over a thousand years. Really helpful, kind staff. The crypt was brilliant. The architecture was just mingling. Your ticket lasts 12 months so you can visit as much as you want for the year.

The Great Hall is an atmospheric medieval hall that features a romantic link to King Arthur. The hall is the only surviving part of Winchester Castle, which was destroyed by Oliver Cromwell in the mid-17th century. The table hanging on the walls includes inscriptions from Henry VIII and Edward, with the table itself dating back much earlier to the reign of Edward .

Nice little hall with a replica of king Arthur table. Has pretty a little garden. Entrance fee is 5 pounds, free for children under 5. Easy to get in, no queues even on a bank holiday.

Ismayil J — Google review

Enjoyed a lot, a small place filled with history. You can dress in some clothes to make nice photos. But the place itself is very interesting to investigate. This huge wooden plate/shield with King Arthur is endearing.

Olesia Korobka — Google review

A lovely places to visit - full of history and lots of information boards about to tell you all about it. Loved seeing the round table from the king Arthur story and reading the history behind. My favorite part was the wall full of the parliament members names and the queen Victoria statue.

Stephanie williams — Google review

A great place to visit if you are in the town. £4 to get in and have a look. Walk through the well priced gift shop to see the hall. It’s beautiful, especially the most amazing large steel doors at the end! See the king Arthur’s knights table. Walk into the beautiful small garden at the side. Doesn’t take long to see it and then you can walk out through the corridor which displays all the historical information. A great quick thing to do that won’t bore the kids.

Graham Walden — Google review

Part of Winchester Castle, long since destroyed, the Great Hall survives. Winchester was the capital of England in the early days, and this history is explained. The round table is an obvious draw, it is really old ..circa 1250 ?but nothing to do the King Arthur, who didn't exist.Well worth the small admission fee, plenty to take on board. Children and older people like myself can dress in medieval clothing.

Mick Pelling — Google review

Not as impressive or interesting of a place as I'd hoped. There is some historical information with some of it interesting some of it not. The hall is nice to see, but that's about it for what this attraction has to offer. It is very suitable for children. I wouldn't recommend it to someone with limited time in Winchester, but it isn't bad either.

Floris van Hal — Google review

I’m here as part of the build team for Rabble Theatre’s Henry I. What a privilege. The building is absolutely immaculate, with 3/4 of a millennium’s worth of history - including ‘that’ round table. Thoroughly recommend going out of your way to visit this amazing part of our history!

James Denny — Google review

The Great Hall in Winchester had a rich history mixing facts, Royal visits and connections with myth and King Arthur's round table, made for a royal wedding. It is worth a visit and has a pleasant side garden.

Christopher Watkins — Google review

What an interesting place. Atmospheric and so high! I've waited a long time to visit and it was amazing. Amazingly accommodating staff. Let me into a side door to use the lift to the long gallery and gift shop. Very friendly girl on the till, and lovely lady in the gift shop. Beautiful garden, small but smelt so amazing with the lavender and honeysuckle. The guide book has a lot of good photos and interesting facts. Cheap to enter at only £4 per adult, but that includes the peaceful garden. Guide books are £2 . Gift shop has a variety of things for all pockets.

Rachel C — Google review

Lovely old 13th-century building, rich history with only 2 buildings left standing since the 13th century.Lovely friendly staff with lots of knowledge about the rich history from back in the days. There are signs that you can read about the historymedieval round table romantically linked to King Arthur.Read more at Raif & Vy Travel Blog.

Raif & Vy — Google review

This is an incredible historical building. Inside, there's the famous Round Table linked to King Arthur's legends, which is pretty impressive. The size of it seeing it hanging up on the wall is astounding. It really brings the legends to life when you see it in front of you. It's like stepping into a history book but cooler. You can almost hear stories of kings and important stuff that happened here. The stained glass with the names of the kings is amazing. The painted wall with names of those in parliament is awe inspiring. I also loved seeing the gates which were specially made for Diana's wedding with their initials carved on the top.If history's your thing, it's a gold mine. But even if history doesn't sound interesting to you, the Great Hall is stunning. The architecture is a mix of strength and elegance that's just beautiful. It's definitely worth the entry fee.Visiting here isn't just a regular visit to a museum. It's like getting a real feel for England's past. It's a chance to see, learn, and appreciate how amazing this country's history is.

Telina F — Google review

£4 isn't a lot but it might be expensive or cheap depends on how you see it.Given the location and how easily accessible it is and the cost maintenance I would say the price is quite fair. More could be done to the garden during winter visit since it looks quite lonesome...You could spend minutes or hours in here depends on how much information you wanted to find out about the site and the history behind it. But it is a must if you are visiting Winchester as a tourist since you do get a feel of how far back this place's history is.

Van Thu Pham — Google review

Takes you back to a time long gone. HISTORICAL and MAGICAL at the same time. Well worth a visit and a lot to see and read about. Decent value at £4 to help with the upkeep of our great history of this land. Recommended to all. Well enjoyed!

A wonderful piece of history, well worth preserving for generations to come. Definitely a must see for anyone visiting Winchester, whether for a day out or a vacation.Winchester as a city has so many fascinating and picturesque things to see, that a day is not enough.

Russ Randelle — Google review

An impressive 13th century building with lots of history. At the end of the hall on the wall contains the round table of King Arthur legend. There are lots of information boards throughout to provide historical details of ones who were tried here (and often sent to be beheaded!) and also details about the building itself. The small garden outside looked very pretty at the time we visited (September) It cost us £4 each to get in which we thought was great value.

Jennifer Green — Google review

What a fantastic historic find! The signage could be improved a bit (they had the entrance sign facing the wrong door so we must’ve been funny to watch pushing on a door that wouldn’t open. It was changed after I kept trying! 😂) There we’re not enough employees to have an 11am guided tour on the day I went (so be mindful they might not run every day) but they had enough informational signs to make a self guided tour worth it. Worth the cost of admission.

The National Motor Museum is an attraction in the New Forest that houses the UKs most exciting collection of automobiles. The formal gardens of Beaulieu Palace and the village of Beaulieu are also lovely.

Wasn't sure what to expect when coming here. We arrived mid Feb whilst on holiday and the weather wasn't great so thought it would be a day out undercover. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The site is pretty big, we started with the top gear area which was really good, it was great to get up close to some of the wacky creations that have been made over the years. We stopped to have a bite to eat before it got busy and the prices were not to bad, probably on the slightly higher side but the cakes were very good. We moved on to the main museum and was shocked to see how many cars and bikes they have fitted into the size building. Everywhere you turn is another vehicle immaculately clean and lots of info about it. The range of vehicles is huge from the 1st cars right up to modern ones. We especially loved the 007 exhibit where you could get up close to the cars from the most recent film, it was nice to be able to get so close without them being on plinths meters away. There is a vintage bus ride and a monorail that will take you around the site which was nice to do. We took a look around the Abbey and house (included in the price of ticket) and had a stroll along the river. If you Gift aid you get to come back within the year but what wasn't made clear at the time was when you come back you only get entry to the motor museum and no other attraction or house which was a little disappointing. The only thing that really let it down for us despite being a fairly quiet day trying to get lunch between 12 and 2 results in a long wait and queue. There are plenty of picnic spots so on a sunny day I think this would be a great place to go but equally on a wet day it's a good day out if you don't mind getting a little wet as you walk between the exhibits / house and gardens.

jay pease — Google review

Loved it here. We been here before we had kids, but it has improved since then and my two kids loved it. They loved the outdoor playground, which was very difficult to get them out of. Mona rail was great too.

Tinali Garrett — Google review

Beautiful place, very well organized. Lots to do for kids and parents. A bit pricey, the combo ticket is £28/£29 per adult but includes parking, The National Motor Museum, World of Top Gear, Palace House & Gardens, Little Beaulieu, Beaulieu Abbey, The Secret Army Exhibition and unlimited rides on the monorail. Is it possible to skip the Motor Museum and the price drops sensibly. I would suggest going on a sunny day, and bring your own food as there are lots of places where to sit and have a picnic.

Giuseppe Gramaglia — Google review

Definitely worth getting there as it opens!! My goodness, there is SO MUCH to look at and do, we couldn't fit it all in during a single day and we got there for 10. The food in the cafe was so good, we went in twice. The whole place is so looked after and clean. Staff members are kind and knowledgeable of their work. Happy to have paid gift aid so we get the annual tickets - Definitely coming back!!

Amy JM — Google review

We had a great time here, the atmosphere is very relaxed. Good to see the Top Gear vehicles. The monorail was a great trip. Food and refreshments were plentiful and not too expensive. The only down side and it was probably out of their hands was we hired an electric car for the weekend and the chargers were out of order. For us it wasn't a problem as we weren't desperate for juice. Well worth a visit. We will be back.

Duncan Harradine — Google review

A fantastic, expansive museum covering many highlights of British motoring and motorbiking development. Vehicles and are in fantastic condition and vary widely by age and origin.Collection of land speed record cars is a must to see!Good accessible location with on-site parking and single ticket entry to both the motor museum and other attractions in Beaulieu.Recommended!

Great day out. Wear your best walking shoes as you'll need them. Mostly accessible. Restaurant not too expensive. Toilets clean. Need around 6 hours to get everything. Pay in advance (with gift aid) and you get a free annual pass to return. Great vegan ice cream options.

Beaulieu is still a great place to visit.Especially if it's your first time. The cars are fun to see and some of the history as you follow the exhibits is really special. Some downsides are that I feel many areas are due a refresh. Parts of the museum look a little tired. Much of it hasn't changed in decades. In some ways it's nice for personal nostalgia but on the whole, updating is needed. The canteen in my view also needs improving. I felt the food was expensive for what you get, and we were kept waiting a long time.Perhaps a system to separate coffee and hot food, from cold drinks and snacks would help. Also dining area seating was lacking if wet outside.Anyhow, overall, still a very enjoyable place to visit! The grounds are fantastic too as are the staff. Many thanks.

Andy Fu — Google review

Top gear show somewhat disappointing.Main car experience is far smaller than I’d hoped for. Gardens not at their best (seasonal), house impressive if that’s your thing. For me, the best part of my day was the pond walk. I loved the tree carving and the walk itself was beautiful. I’m sure the children will enjoy the monorail.

jeff stewart — Google review

A fun packed day out for the family. Main exhibition building charts the history of the motor car right up to the modern day including world landspeed record cars. Outside there is a monorail which goes around the gardens and through the roof of the exhibition centre. Other exhibitions include Top Gear featuring many cars from the series. There's also a show of cars from famous movies including James Bond. There's a cafeteria and tea shop on site. Toilets clean and functional. Well stocked gift shop. Kids play area in the gardens. Bus tours. Family house. Free parking. Not sure how busy it gets in the summer as this was February. Check prices as its not cheap.

Chris Ringrose — Google review

I loved the experience in this place! My little one enjoyed the train and the playground which is amazing. A few activities to do, coffee was good as well. With the price i didn't expect to need coins inside to play with the screen cars or the cars with remote, it should include a bit of that. But the rest was really really good! Worth the visit!

Marcela Soto Solano — Google review

Amazing day out, and we didn't get around all of it! Lots of parking with good access for visitors with disabilities. The staff were friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived, with helpful guidance on getting the most out of the day. The motor museum itself was our main aim, and there is plenty to keep everyone interested. The exhibits are all in very good condition, and really provide a "time warp" perspective. Well worth a visit any time of year.

Chris Wood — Google review

There a lot of things to do here. The main attraction is the motor museum, very nicely laid out, with a lot of vintage, modern and some unusual cars. Without a doubt one of the best motor museum. I’m less interested about it, but they also have motorbikes and race cars.About the other attractions, you have an exhibition about Top Gear, cars used in movies, a monorail, a vintage bus, an abbey, a house, gardens and a museum about war. It’s really nice to spend a summer day with a picnic. It took us almost 6 hours to do everything at a quiet pace. We then went to Beaulieu village, which is beautiful.

Damien Vanhille — Google review

Returned for a visit for the first time in 28 years when I visited as a child. Unfortunately I found it quite disappointing. Feels very dated and the museum is smaller than I remember. Could do with with some new investment - in particular more interactive features would be good for children. In addition, it’s not particularly pushchair/wheelchair friendly in all areas which was surprising.

Peter Hansen-Chambers — Google review

Such a full day, we stayed way longer than we expected as there're so many things to see. Personal highlight was the falconry training session, absolutely fascinating and unique. The Museum is vast but very well curated with everything looking beautiful and no busyness. There were a few cars I would have liked some more specific information about, such as their life before the museum, because i like a few memorable stories.Loved the land speed section. The grounds were a little busy and hectic with sculptures when we visited, but we could still find calm looking over the water near the palace.

jenny williams — Google review

Supercar weekend was brilliant despite the rain. We saw all of our favorite cars and also went around the palace house, which is included with your entry tickets and really nice.Pay in advance for the cheaper option tickets. There is so much to see and do there if your car lover then definitely go! Food stalls on the special weekends are on the expensive side, the restaurant was really busy, picnic are great when it's not raining. Great for kids and families, it's our second visit, and we we're not disappointed at all.

Sarah Morris — Google review

This is a fantastic place to go for a day out, whether you're a couple or have kids there is so much to do and see. We spent about 3.5 hours here. It's expensive but you definitely get more than you pay for and the food is reasonable. Do get the ice cream it's fantastic. The main attraction is the motor museum, despite not being into cars, it was an amazing collection, fascinating history and the staff are brilliant at explaining facts about the cars. It's got a little bit devoted to top gear which was cute and entertaining. If you're not a car enthusiasts there is a fun monorail, a little bus to drive you about. A beautiful Abbey that is well maintained and the ground have gorgeous art and wild birds like pheasants running around. The kitchen garden are delightful and they even have a bird if prey display. Should that not be enough the view back into the village over the lake is idyllic. The manor house is pretty too. Wear trainers!

I loved this museum! Such a beautiful piece of history. There are a lot of things to do and their shop have some good organic stuff like apple juice. 🩷

Visited for the first time in over 10 years and greatly enjoyed! Got discounted entry as had a blue light card and were impressed with the ticket becoming an annual ticket (for museum) as we added gift aid. Museum had so many different vehicles in, we easily spent close to 2 hours walking round. Other exhibitions were good too, particularly enjoyed the Cars on Screen one. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. Looking forward to returning again and soon!

Never been before, but always wanted to visit.Lots to see, really interesting and enjoyable.A really neat, clean, and well played out site.Lots of friendly, polite, and welcoming staff.Cafe is good too, and in addition to the motoring museum, there is a Top Gear display, and the house is open to the public.Monorail ride, vintage bus ride, and a display for the SOE.It's a great day out.

New Forest Wildlife Park offers visitors the chance to see indigenous species in their natural surroundings, with easy-to-follow trails throughout the park. There is a good adventure play space for children and adults, as well as an open viewing area for wildlife watching.

Found this site whilst on holiday in the local area. We arrived mid Feb when our schools were on half term but quickly found out that the local schools didn't break up until a week later, this did mean some attractions were not open so we had to hunt around to find places to go. We luckily found this site and in so glad we did. The site is a fair size but not to big. We did a couple of laps so we could see things at different times. The harvest mice were very active around lunch time. The site is well laid out and the animals have large enclosures with both indoor and out door sides. Some animals can be a bit elusive but that's the same in any park. We stopped and had lunch and the food was very good even had Costa coffee machines which was great. Overall price for admission and food was very reasonable. I don't mind paying for food and the gift shop if the admission fee is reasonable. Larger zoos annoy me when it costs over £100 just to get in and then the food is over priced and then you have to try an negotiate the kids through the exit without getting stung again by the gift shop. I know larger zoos have higher operating costs and are trying to recover from covid but I've found smaller sites to be better and actually get to see more so we'll done to this site for hitting the right balance.

It was a good place to go to see the animals. Me and my mum really enjoyed it. The wallaby's enclosure allowed you to walk within it, which was very cool. However you were not supposed to walk in the middle of the enclosure. My favourite animal to see was the wolves.

Amazing Family Fun day out!easy to find with Google maps, ample parking & toilets on site!lots of cool variety of animals to see.Great play Park for Ages 6 Year's & older!Well recommend for a great family day out!☆☆☆☆☆

Enjoyable wildlife park to visit. Mainly outside, suitable for larger pushchairs- suspect wheelchairs might be more difficult given the terrain. Lots of play areas and activities for kids. One of the smaller wildlife parks but well worth a visit.

D T — Google review

Wonderful place to take the little ones. They can get up close to the enclosures and watch the animals being fed. Great talks on the hour from the keepers. Great out play area. Worth the entrance money.

Carl Osborne — Google review

Amazing place. Not to expensive tickets to get in, and really lovely area. Lots of animals well cared for, good animal talks and feeds so you can know more about the animal, and just a lovely place. Nice gift shop, and it has a cafe if you want to eat there, or picnic tables dotted about if you want to bring a picnic. Clean, friendly and would recommend! I've been there many times, it's very calming and I love seeing the animals, especially the otters!

Heather Drake — Google review

A worthwhile visit, it's definitely a child friendly-family place and if you wish to go as a couple to simply indulge your sense of childlike wonder this is the place to be! From housing wolves to free roaming deer the wildlife park is amazing. I was even surprised to find that they did costa coffee at £2.60 and the sandwiches (for a park) where £3. 50-£4.50 so it was not to bad. Not to mention there plenty of play areas for the children. A good portion if not all of it was accessible and offered plenty of places to sit if you needed a break. So I wholeheartedly recommend you visit.

Hope Mcguire — Google review

Lovely wildlife park, great for young children as it is fairly small with lots of play areas along the way.Variety of animals, lots of otters and owls!Cafe is fairly basic. They do sandwiches/cakes and drinks but no hot food.We had no queues to enter or to get food

Rebecca Mayo — Google review

My new favourite place. What a beautiful find me and my children ages 2 to 15 had such a lovely time. We stopped for lunch there, there food is delicious. There was plenty of eating areas. There are so many gorgeous animals to see and if you can catch the feeding times the telly were great to see my 2 years highlight was watching the giant otters being fed with all the funny noises they were making. There are plenty of toilets which were so handy for us as were potty training. There is a handy ice cream pop up shop and there are 2 lovely play parks for the kids. The deer enclosure is stunning and they are just so peaceful looking animals it was amazing being so close to them.Seeing the wallaby’s doing there own thing was lovely as you walked round. We spent hours here and we can’t wait to come again.

Kathryn Mogan — Google review

Really lovely visit today they have an awesome climbing play park for big and small kids and the animals are really looked after. It's refreshing to see more natural surrounds for the animals instead of cages which force the animals into the public eye. Also the river otters are massive!!!

Ash Sheppard — Google review

A nice morning out, seeing some animals and getting some playtime in.The park is clean, well kept, well maintained. Most of the animal exhibits were available to the public (only 1 enclosure was labelled as under refurb) which is fantastic. The play areas were very heavy on rope-type play equipment, which isn't great for very young children (probably best for 3+, maybe a bit older) but there is a nice sandpit that toddlers can enjoy.Parking is good, wasn't jam packed when we left at midday. Easy to get to.Staff were amazing, really polite, friendly and helpful.Few points to note:- It is pricey for the amount if animals/areas to explore compared to the entrance fee.- There are not a lot of food places or toilet stops.- The only food place open today only serves cold food, and not a broad selection. There was a Costa self-serve station for hot drinks. In short, am glad we went and we had a good morning, but because of the current entrance price and us seeing everything in less than 2 hours it didn't feel good enough value to come back regularly.

madeleine ellis — Google review

What a fantastic place, really enjoyed the animals. The staff were very helpful and the lady showing the lynx feeding was brilliant.Really good play areas for children, nice restaurant and clean toilets. Couldn't think of a better place to spend the day.

Amanda Robinson — Google review

Great place to see some different animals up close and personal with informative talks..my daughter loves wolves so great to see them. The wallaby's were so interesting to watch as were the giant otters. Also a super adventure playground.

Vivienne Christensen — Google review

Lovely little park nestled in the forest. Animals appear happy and well kept, and the keepers and staff were friendly. We visited as a couple and spent 2 hours here (it was the middle of the day and raining, so no sign of the Lynx, foxes, badgers or or wallabies!) but I’m sure families could spend a lot longer as there is a fantastic looking play area. Highlights for us were the mouse exhibit and the wolves, but we did enjoy the otter feeding/talk too☺️

Beaulieu Eaton — Google review

Very pleasant day out, pretty much saw everything as we got there first thing but went around a few times. Overall spent around 3 hours including a quick lunch as we took our time to look for the animals. Good parking and plenty of seating by the cafe

Ryan H — Google review

Such a great place for a calm afternoon, we went on a very off peak day during the week later in the afternoon about 2 hours before the close and all of the animals were at their most lively time of day including wolves and lynx, and giant otters. Defo recommend during the week if you want something nice and easy to do and check out the local new forest areas too. I went with my partner.

Tropicalbreadsticks Ghost — Google review

Wonderful day out in this lovely wildlife park. Easy to find, with plenty parking. Nice reasonably priced cafe with a good selection of drinks and sandwiches/sausage rolls etc. Family of 4 for £44.50 entry which we felt was a good price for the day. Lots of lovely critters in a well laid out park. Grandchildren loved the baby otters, giant otters, ferrets, wolves and harvest mice best. Adventure parks were a big hit too. A fun day out with plenty to keep the children and us adults entertained. Would highly recommend.

Carole Henderson (Cas01) — Google review

Whilst on a break away in the New Forest, we decided to take a trip out to New Forest Wildlife Park. We were impressed by the condition of the animals and the enclosures. Due to the time of year, some animals were hidden away, but we still saw plenty and enjoyed 3 of the talks. Although i went with my wife, i noticed that there were plenty of play areas for kids. There was also a decent cafe. However, we just purchased drinks, so we can't review the foodWould visit again.

Amusem*nt park

The theme park home to Peppa Pig World offers plenty of fun for all the family with gentle rides, themed areas and 70 exciting attractions.

Fantastic experience for little one (and for us parents too). Booked in advance for no more than £100 - one day. No long waits for attractions (no more than 5 minutes). Very clean and nice rides. Just would recommend to bring your own food as restaurant offers are very basic. Very happy, we will come back again.

Ricardo Nieto — Google review

We went on a weekday for my little girls first birthday and I don't think I'd ever visit. Theme park again on a weekend or in the school holidays. There were no waiting times for the rides. It was an enjoyable experience. Pepper pig world is the main reason we travelled the two and a half hours and that didn't disappoint either. It was bigger than I expected and my one year old loved it.The park was big and clean. I can't fault anything about the day to be honest.

Rebecca Ashmore — Google review

Took my daughter here for her fourth birthday. She loved it. Pepper pig world was amazing. Plenty to do and see. The other part of the park is aimed at older people, with some big rollercoasters and more extreme rides. Going during the week at term time, there were no ques for anything. If you have kids younger than school age, it's definitely a good time to go. Some animals to see including birds, foxes, penguins, rodents and tortoise's.The Japanese gardens are amazing and superbly well looked after.Lots of toilets and all seemed clean.Plenty of parking too.A great day out.

Greg Rogers — Google review

Best Theme Park In The UK!This park has something for all ages from thrill rides to small kids rides that everyone can enjoy. Waiting times are always short or non existent which means you can manage plenty of rides and get your moneys worth! The park is also always nice and clean and stays that way the entire day including bathrooms and the food outlets. Food is quite pricey now but it does taste good and is nicely themed into each of the areas. There is so much here at Paultons Park and I am so excited for the future as it is such an amazing park. Only thing I would like to see improved is an indoor ride added!

ThemeParkJaden — Google review

A wonderful theme park and a nice world for kids to escape from the school and other stresses. Recommended two days to fully enjoy the rides without any hurry. The restaurants inside are over pricey, and that's the only negative point I see. The restrooms are very neat and clean, staffs are super polite. This is a real competitor for Disneyland,IMHO. 5 ✨

Ashok Moorthy — Google review

Much better than I thought it would be.No matter what your child's age is, there's something there for a range of ages.Plenty of baby changing facilities around the park that are well maintained.Various places to eat. We ate at the burrito place, and the portions were massive (£12.95 for a meal deal). We went just before Halloween on a Sunday when the weather was a bit iffy. The queues weren't too bad, most were very short. The 2 babies in our group loved the live entertainment, even though they were too young to understand it.Buy tickets in advance because they are cheaper than on the day.The only issue I found was the re-entry system. They stamp your hand with a UV stamp (that can only be seen under a UV light). But when trying to re-enter, there only seemed to be a couple of people with the torches on the entry turn styles. So I queued up in 2 different queues to be told they didn't have a torch and to queue again somewhere else! By that point, I asked them to bring the torch to me, instead of queuing up for a third time.

Chris McMillan — Google review

Great day at the park. everyone there was friendly and helpful. The rides were perfectly set for the height restrictions. There were plenty of places to stop and rest or for kids to just play. The kids playground and slash Park were just was needed in the heat of the day.We all enjoyed it and will be back again. The parking is free and facilities are great and I highly recommend it for parents with toddlers.

Nirav Patel — Google review

One of the best themed parks in UK. The experience started from the spacious parking area which you won’t spend more time to find a spot. I purchased my teeth tickets in advance and it was cheaper than buying them form the reception. The waiting times for the rides was reasonable during this visit as it was during the weekdays. Our last visit was over the weekend and waiting times was very disappointing. The park is divided manily into three themed zones and each one has different rides for all ages. Peppa pig world is the most crowded one, so be prepared for the extra wait time. Shops and restaurants are found in each zone and the provide different selections of food. You would definitely need more than one day to try most of the rides in the different zones. It was a great experience for the family day out and I would highly recommend it.

Attallah — Google review

One of the best Theme parks. Took boys 14 & 9.Although it was a lovely day, queues were short, about 5 or 10 minutes. Everything was clean & tidy, saw NO litter & bins were never full. Lots of helpful staff around & absolutely loads to do. Plenty of places to picnic or just rest & came home with two exhausted children. Prices of food & drinks etc were a bit high but that's the same everywhere unfortunately. Will definitely be visiting again soon.

Lesley Bingham — Google review

Great place for younger children. Ours absolutely loved the rides, seeing the characters and all the animals dotted around the park. The queue times were short as we went in November. The park is kept to a really high standard and was pleasantly pleased to see the effort in the aesthetics. Only thing letting it down is the food and drink prices. If you want a coffee then don't expect a lot of change from £5!

The Jammo — Google review

Booked for 2 days in the park with a hotel stay. Really impressed with Peppa pig world and there was so much to do and see in the other areas too including a splash pad and numerous play areas. Plenty of rides for my son who was 5 to go on.The park was really well kept, clean and tidy with beautiful gardens. Will be returning.

Ali — Google review

Me and my family had a wonderful time at the park yesterday 16.5.22 for my daughters 3rd birthday. It was our first trip and we can wait to come back. The park it’s self is amazing, we mainly spent the day in Peppa pig world which was so much fun, great rides, looks great with characters around the park and the gardens/hedges cut into characters. Queue times fantastic, straight on rides, ok we went school term which helps, but the park was still fairly busy but basically straight on every ride. The Peppa pig shop is amazing and very reasonably priced. George’s soft play the kiddies loved and it was so clean. The staff was one of the highlights for us, super friendly and engaging with us, all the staff noticed it was my daughters birthday and was engaging with her and gave her a Paultons birthday badge, and one nice lady even sang to her, the staff are a credit to the company so thank you. The park looks great and is well kept and very clean throughout. My son loved the splash zone and the log flume. Honestly the company should be proud of what they have from the park to all the staff, we can’t stop thinking about our day and like I’ve said can’t wait to return, THANK YOU.

Ashley Willis — Google review

Best Theme Park I have been too. attraction still looks new, the garden and landscaping is amazing " it’s botanical garden not theme park". F&B outlets are very good comparing to other theme parks.Suitable for all ages.I recommend visiting the park in week days, waiting time was from 0 to 5 minutes.

khalid Al shezawi — Google review

Lovely place for kids. The little ones had so much fun. The rides are really good and mostly small children can get on them. The place is a fairy 🧚‍♂️ land, super clean environment.

Basil Ezenkwel — Google review

What an amazing experience, plenty of rides to all age groups, kids will enjoy a lot for sure, better to visit in weekdays so that waiting time is less and more rides could be enjoyed for the day. There are plenty of restaurants and fast food outlets to crave our taste buds.Exceptionally well service from working staff. It is better to plan which rides you're interested in and would like to experience.Parking is free and is near the entrance.

Kiran H — Google review

Wonderful place for young children. Been to Disney land and this is so much better for parents. Queues are minimal in November and kids get to enjoy themselves on the rides and indoor playground, rather than spending time in humongous queues.Places is tidy and neat with good food choices. There are also rides for older kids in another section.Highly recommended.

N Gnner — Google review

It was a dream come true for my Daughter. She had the BEST day visiting Peppa pig’s world with her friends. It was so beautiful and we as adults enjoyed it too! We visited during Halloween and the decorations were so gorgeous . It was so worth the 2 hours journey from London. We would definitely visit again hopefully next Spring-Summer.

This historical landmark is a popular attraction on the Isle of Wights western tip with rides, sweet-making demonstrations, glass blowing, the chance to make sand souvenirs, and crazy golf.

Amazing views and easy to get to!We went in late February and so most of the attractions were closed, but that definitely didn’t stop us from walking to the Needles viewpoint. There are some truly amazing views along the walk, which takes about 30 to 40 minutes each way, depending on how many times you stop to take photos! You can see the multicoloured cliff faces, lovely coastline, as well as amazing views to the Lighthouse on the Needles itself. You can also see a look out post from the Coast Guard near the end of the walk, plus a bit of history from where the British government tested rocket engines as well. The best views are from the National trust old battery and new battery fort, and when we went we didn’t have to pay, although during high season you will.I would definitely recommend. From Newport it only takes about 35 minutes to drive to, and I believe there is a bus service as well!

Jonny — Google review

I absolutely loved this place!! I'm a geography student so it was even more interesting learning about the history of the needles on the boat trip! We went on the really cool chair lift and the boat going around the needles, it was amazing! I would 100% recommend. Neither the chair lift nor the boat trip was expensive to go on. Such beautiful cliff edges, so many different colours. We also played some crazy golf, perfect for children in my opinion. I had a wonderful day! Thank you so much 😁

Lily Cole — Google review

this is a must do if you visit the isle of wight! there is so much to do / see here, there’s also plenty of walking / coastal routes to explore! the needles is a great place of history and is fun for everyone. it’s a very interesting place to visit especially if you’re already with the national trust as you can get into the viewpoint area for free! i would highly recommend the needles. it’s beauty and history is definitely worth it.

Grace — Google review

It's the very western end of Isle of Wight. There are beautiful views of the sea and cliffs. There are beautiful walks on the hills around with a mild climb. There are chairlifts to go down to the beach. There are amusem*nts like 4D cinema and dinosaur mini golf. Unfortunately everything was closed on 31st December. We still enjoyed our visit here thanks to the beautiful scenery.

ProGamer AZ — Google review

A lovely afternoon out. Limited activities, but more than made up for by the stair lifts! The views on the stair lift are absolutely stunning! Truly worth the time to visit for those alone!Food was good, the jacket potatoes were enormous. Was a little odd that the toppings came separately, but no big issue.Staff were polite and helpful throughout the park.

John Stovold — Google review

We went on the ski lift down to the beach rather than do the hundreds of steps. My partner loved it but I was a bit scared going over the edge. The beach is interesting with the variety of sands in the cliffs but small. However you can take a boat tour of the needles from the beach which is great.

Alison Ford — Google review

The chairlift was great fun and the beach below fantastic. The museums at the battery at the top are very interesting, but are more traditional than the fancy interactive ones people might be used to these days (which I prefer). The glass blowing is very fun to watch. Kids love making sand bottles too take home. The downsides are the extremely early closing time 16.30, and that the cafe food is pretty basic.

Matthew Amos — Google review

Wonderful place to visit. Highly recommend to carry as less luggage as possible. Can't take anything on chairlift and steps to walk down and up are decent but due to gradient makes it more challenging if you have too much to carry.Very challenging for old and disabled people to get down to beach. Only possibility is chairlift but may need to wait in queue for so long if during peak days, so pls be aware.Fun place for sure for kids with some rides on top and pebbles to play with at the beach. Anyone fancy a boat ride can do so to and fro from the bay to needles light house for £8(normal) and £15(speed boat) as of today.Plenty of parking, I think £6 as of today for all day car park.

Narin Nandivada — Google review

Great family day out at this national trust site.... The chair lift to the beach was good fun. We walked down because of the queues and took the chair lift back up. Took a boat ride around the needles which was good fun too. Great walk to the old battery, there is a brilliant viewing point of the Needles, even better than from the boat just next to the new battery area, near the rocket testing site. The walk is relatively flat so is easy to get to.

Gaurav Gautam — Google review

A good place at the end of Isle of wight.Having been there during non peak October time there were hardly anyone around.Car park is free (wow nice in the UK)There's a lot keep one engaged. The cable car was good for the views.Infact walk would be ideal.

RR — Google review

I do like it here even if it is winter and most of it is closed and the shops are mainly empty. But the view is super awesome and the gift shop was well stocked, and the sand place was open. The sweet shop on the other hand seemed to be missing..... Sweets. I guess being winter they don't sell a lot but there is way better sweet shops in shanklin that sell a lot lot more.Parking is free in the winter and loads of space, just remember that the amusem*nts are closed and also the chair lift. The beach was also closed due to safety concerns. The amusem*nts are quite expensive £6 Rach for golf ⛳. Wow that's a lot, again places in the towns are much better value. If you have the time and the weather is good you can walk to the old battery which is well worth the visit of open.

chris Evans — Google review

Great fun for all ages lots to do. I recommend popping in to alumbay glass. It's great to see a traditional craft up close and personal. I also recommend the boat trip you get a fantastic view of the needles and the lighthouse the staff on the boat were knowledgeable and cheery. There are places to eat, drink (good coffee) and get ice cream. Oh and I can't leave out the filling the glass bottles of alum Bay sand. All the staff we met where friendly and happy to help. There are over 100 stairs down to the beach on quite a steep incline but the views are stunning and worth the effort.

Allie Gee's — Google review

A beautiful spectacular place to be and visitLoads of things to do and a wonderful place to spend a full dayLots of games for kids. Nothing much for adults other than golf and chairlift to the beach. But the beach is the place to be. Amazingly clean, beautiful water, absolutely scenicThere were 2 great boat rides to the lighthouse. We took the blue ride which is a bit slow compared to the other.Very nice ride and absolutely worth every penny.Great time to spend with family and friends

Shakeel Ahmed — Google review

Great place to come kids and grown ups. So much to do here. Go down to the beach on the chair lifts, £9.00 for adults, or you can walk down via some steep steps. Rides for kids, amusem*nt arcades, cafes, clothes shops. A shop where you can buy coloured sand. Fantastic sweet shop and gift shop. Fantastic day out

Louise Lawson — Google review

A bit of a queue for the chairlift, once down on the pebbly beach apart from boat rides which is worth it for the kids... slow boat £8 per adult and £5 per child - fast boat £15 per person or £55 family of 4 (2A/2C).No refreshments available on beach. If you don't want to take chair lift there is a walk way down. Everything is dog friendly.

Sarah Whaley — Google review

One of the main attractions in the Island. Have visited this place for the first time almost 13 years back and again in May 23; the place remains beautiful and the chairlift is a great experience in itself. The boat rides are kinda OK, but kids would enjoy it. If you want an adventurous ride, wait for the Faster boat, which is a tad dearer and a shorter one, but is more fun. Buying the bundles online would work out cheaper overall with free parking.

Deepak Srinivasan — Google review

A great experience. To get to the beach, you can walk down or take the chair lift , which was purchased second hand, 50 years prior to our visit from a ski resort. We were lucky to go on a beautiful day, making our boat ride out to the famous Needles. Made even better by learning the history of the place while on our boat trip. 🚢

Fortress

The historical fort complex at the western tip of the Isle of Wight, known as The Needles Batteries, was built in 1862 and has played a significant role in the coastal defence of England during both world wars. Today, visitors can explore recreated rooms, a tunnel and exhibition showcasing its history as well as admire the original guns. The site was also used for testing Black Knight and Black Arrow space rocket engines during the Cold War era.

Great place to visit if you are a history buff! They have a tea room in the watchtower. The ladies are genuinely helpful and very kind. We enjoyed our trip here. It's a place designed for soldiers so it's not completely accessible to all areas but they've made great attempts to make most of the area accessible. The staff on site are extremely knowledgeable and very helpful.

Tarun Bharadwaj Natam — Google review

Visited the old battery on a fairly overcast day. The only downside is that you have to pay for parking, as it's not on NT land. Nice enough walk up to the old (& new) battery. Went on the free tour (about 20 minutes), which was informative & interesting. Then explored the site. A good afternoon spent here!

Colin Burn — Google review

A National Trust property, we had a freebie which we used to get in. Interesting history of the fort and to see how it was would have been used in the first and second world war. Great view of the needles from the underground spotlight if you don't mind narrow spaces and a steep spiral staircase. It was pretty cold so went to go into the coffee shop which was full so didn't try.

Extremely interesting and informative. The old battery is so full of history and facts about how,why and what each part was used for. Winds rose making it hard to stand in some areas , particularly when wanting to take photos from viewpoints. However it didn't spoil the visit. I then trecked uphill to the new battery but found it less informative, but a worthwhile exercise due to the fantastic views

It’s run by the national trust so free for members otherwise there’s an entry fee. Inside the battery you’ll find a museum, some old gigantic metal coastal defence guns, a tea room selling cream teas and sandwiches and ice cream and some toilets. There are excellent views of the needles from this place. There’s also an underground passageway you can descend down to get a closer look at the needles. Takes about an hour to explore all the rooms and exhibits of this old military site.

Even though it was a rainy day, we had a great time exploring this area and taking photos of the needles. We didn’t go past the gates to the national trust section yet the workers were so helpful and enthusiastic and shared some of the history of the old battery. Nice walk from the car park to the needle viewpoint, no uphill climbs but need to take some care on the steps from viewpoint on the left.

Gorgeous setting, nice informative little experience in the battery. The tea room was also exceptional with nice cakes, selection of drinks, themed environment and view of the needles from the top.

It's quite a lot fun of taking a chairlift. The viewing from the top is good and it’s very relaxing. The needle isles are not quite easy to access. It looks me very unique and special from far away. It points directly to the West. The places elsewhere is also not bad but not that special from other beaches. And the water quality off the shore is not so impressive. I think for most people it’s a ‘I’ve been here’ one-time activity.

A wonderful piece of history situated very close to Needles.Entry is free for National Trust Members and around 8 pounds for others. The best thing about the place is the views of the needles and surrounding areas.Must visit

The battery itself was fine with some informative information but what made it great for me was the incredible views! Such a great view of the needles the wind was crazy but the beauty was worth it to us. We are National Trust members so it was free anyways really. The new battery was closed only open on Saturdays but you can walk around up there for free without buying tickets.

Brilliant visit here over the weekend. The views are brilliant and plenty of history around the place to look at and read about. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming which made the visit even more pleasant. There is a bus from the bottom which you can get for £3 return as a national trust member which we did making it easy to visit! Would definitely return.

The 0ld Battery was built as an old Victorian sea fort built in 1862. It was used for coastal defence in both World Wars. The New Battery further up the headland was also used as a secret rocket testing site. Both are worth a visit and the Needles can be seen from both sites.

Chris Kinnersley — Google review

Thoroughly recommend a visit, and it’s on the coast path too, if you’re doing the round the island walk. Lots of very interesting exhibits and information plus the staff are really friendly and knowledgeable too. I had no idea that the new battery was also a rocket testing site. Take the short spiral stairs and along the tunnel to the forward searchlight position- it’s as close to the needles as you can get, other than on a boat. Nice cafe with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, plus facilities. The blueberry scones were delicious and tea was served in a china pot with china crockery, which was a lovely touch.

The New Forest National Park is a protected area in Hampshire, southern England, covering 566 square kilometers. The park is home to many different animals and birds not often found in the UK. The national park has been enforced by officials known as verderers for well over 1,000 years, and is still in place today.

🐴please remember to drive slow around bends, there are horses everywhere, and some go on the road!🐴I've always loved this place!I went here to look for the famous blubelle fields, but unfortunately was quite unsuccessful. However, instead I found a lovely little hotel and restaurant called "the pig". I Highly recommend a visit there. A very wonderful place and a good stop for some lemonade and a rest.

Beautiful big National Park! Plenty of places to explore, beautiful paths to hike with quite a few car parks to allow you to explore different areas. There are quite a lot of wild horses roaming around the National Park, it won't be difficult to find them! They will come rather close to your car if you allow them to be in peace. It's good that there aren't many places to stay and eat, which means that the area is quiet.

This was booked as a birthday surprise. Absolutely amazing place, fabulous lodge everything top range and beautifully equiped. The shops, restaurant and pub all set in the ambience of the New Forest, tranquil and peaceful. Would recommend very highly.

Parked at Kingswood Oak to explore the forest. There were lovely wide tracks. We had our 3yr old with us who was happy to walk, but the terrain would have been suitable for a robust buggy. Beautiful scenery and it was quiet. When we got back the carpark had overflowed onto the road, so probably best to get there early.

It is a very beautiful area. Lots of birds and an SSSI and nature reserve, too. It's lovely for a walk along the shoreline, although beware that there are mud flats and you can walk suddenly be up to your knees in mud. My dog had a wonderful time there.

The New Forest National Park is a wonderful place. Many different types of trees and length/ location of walks. There are car parks dotted throughout the park (not all have public toilets, so check before you travel) and many of the larger car parks during the summer are visited by ice cream vans.We must keep our New Forest clean and safe for generations for years to come, so please take your rubbish with you, don't pet the pony's and enjoy the space.

Beautiful location, perfect scenery, plenty of wild horses, cute little towns, plenty of day camping sites, what more can I say? It’s just gorgeous! Absolutely love visiting New Forest.

An incredibly diverse national park with lots of different car parks, some with toilets. Lots of walks or cycling routes. And of course, the New Forest ponies to observe in a natural habitat for them

I had an incredible visit to the New Forest National Park, and it's safe to say that we'd love to come back here again. The natural beauty of this place is simply enchanting. During our recent trip, we decided to explore some of the charming little towns that dot the landscape.Beaulieu left us awe-struck with its picturesque setting and the delightful sight of donkeys leisurely strolling around the village. Milford on Sea offered us amazing sea walks, with the crashing waves creating a soothing ambiance. And Lyndhurst was an absolute gem; we embarked on a captivating town walk, discovering an old church that seemed to have a story around every corner. To top it off, we enjoyed a delectable cup of coffee at the New Forest Coffee Shop, making our visit even more memorable. The New Forest National Park offers a perfect blend of natural wonders and quaint, historic towns, making it a destination that leaves you yearning for more. We're already looking forward to our next adventure in this enchanting place.

Such a lovely part of the UK. Always enjoy visiting the new forest due to the abundance of wildlife. We were lucky to see loads of ponies, donkeys, cows including Highland cattle and pigs during our recent visit. Loads of well maintained free car parks, many with public toilets. Variety of walks but the fact you can simply wander freely means you can explore without seeing another soul. Lovely villages scattered throughout the park. It is a fabulous place to visit and highly recommended.

A wonderful place to visit at any time of year. The scenery will always be different according to the season and if you go at quiet times can be very peaceful. I'm normally there early in the morning sometimes just me it seems. As I live quite close I don't use it as a holiday destination, but there are lots of things to do and best start is the visitor centre at Lyndhurst for all the info.

Easy motorway access and then smaller roads. Huge park for outdoor rising cycling. Walking, etc . Lots to see and do. Suggest to preplan a list and route and book accomodation centrally to make the most of the area. Food and drink easily available .

Lovely place. Went down a lane restricted to 40mph and also equipped cattle grids. Amazing scenery and wild horses. Saw some goals also.I wish the lane was restricted to a lower speed as when I was here, some drivers abused the speed and beeped their horns to shift the horses.

Great open areas for walking, there was also ponies grazing. The trees were wonderful spent a lot of time just looking up into the canopy.
